Service Coordinator – ADL Lift Services Ltd
Location: Bellshill (Glasgow)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent

ADL Lift Services Ltd is looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Service Coordinator to join our growing Service Department.

This is a key role within the business, acting as the link between our customers, service engineers and management team to ensure planned maintenance, breakdowns and repairs are coordinated efficiently.\

**The Role**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Coordinating and scheduling our team of Service Engineers
Logging and managing reactive call-outs and breakdowns
Planning routine maintenance visits
Monitoring outstanding jobs and lifts currently out of service
Liaising directly with customers and providing regular updates
Reviewing engineers’ reports and ensuring follow-up actions are progressed
Raising and tracking repair requirements
Supporting the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the department
Maintaining accurate records within our service management system
Working closely with our technical, accounts and management teams
Helping ensure we continue to deliver the high level of customer service expected from ADL

**About You**

Previous experience within the lift industry would be advantageous, particularly in a service coordination, helpdesk or administrative role, although we would also consider someone with strong coordination experience from another engineering or field-service environment.

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organised and able to manage changing priorities
Confident communicating with customers and engineers
Calm and professional when dealing with breakdowns and urgent situations
Comfortable working in a busy service environment
Proactive rather than simply reacting to problems
Computer literate with strong administrative skills
A genuine team player

This week, ADL Lift Services Ltd welcomed Cian Sweeney as our newest apprentice — adding to the numerous apprentices and adult improvers we’ve invested in over the last five years.

A big welcome to Cian as he starts his journey with the ADL family.

For us, this isn’t just recruitment. It’s about reinvesting in our industry.

The lift industry needs skilled engineers, experienced supervisors, technical specialists and future leaders. The most sustainable way to achieve that is to create them, train them, support them and give them genuine opportunities to progress.

We want people joining ADL to see a clear pathway ahead of them — from apprentice or adult improver, through engineering roles and ultimately into testing, technical, supervisory and management positions if that’s where their ambition takes them.

Our approach is simple:

🚆 From concept to reality – and the response has genuinely exceeded our expectations.

Over the last two days at Rail Live, we had the opportunity to showcase our patent-pending modular lift solution and discuss how modern methods of construction can help transform the delivery of accessibility projects across the UK rail network.

The level of interest, engagement and positive feedback received from stakeholders was fantastic. It was encouraging to speak with Network Rail representatives, principal contractors, consultants and industry professionals who all recognised the potential benefits that this approach can bring to future accessibility projects.

What makes this particularly exciting is that the solution has now successfully passed the design approval process, and the lift components for the first four installations are currently being manufactured in preparation for assembly within the factory environment ahead of deployment to site.

Working alongside our commercial partners, Miller Fabrications Ltd and International Lift Equipment Ltd, we have developed a solution that challenges the traditional approach to lift installation within the rail environment.

The lift shaft structure is manufactured, assembled and fully clad off-site within a controlled factory environment, with the lift equipment integrated prior to delivery. This enables quality, safety and consistency to be managed throughout the manufacturing process while significantly reducing the amount of work required on site.

Importantly, whilst the installation methodology represents a major advancement in project delivery, the lift equipment itself is based on proven, maintainable technology designed to meet the demanding operational, reliability and whole-life asset requirements expected across the UK rail network.

Once the required possession is secured, the completed lift structure can be craned directly into position. The remaining activities are then focused on final integration, testing, commissioning and handover, with the lift expected to be ready for passenger service within approximately two weeks.

The benefits are clear:

✅ Reduced installation programmes

✅ Reduced disruption to passengers and rail operations

✅ Improved safety through reduced on-site activity

✅ Enhanced quality through factory-controlled assembly

✅ Greater programme certainty for clients

✅ Faster delivery of accessibility improvements

Taking a concept from a sketch on paper to a fully approved solution now entering manufacture has required a huge amount of commitment, expertise and determination from everyone involved. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved so far and excited about the next stage of the journey.

Rail Live has confirmed what we believed from the outset – there is a real appetite within the rail industry for innovative solutions that reduce programme durations, improve safety and deliver accessibility improvements faster than ever before.

With the first four installations now entering manufacture, we look forward to demonstrating how this innovative approach can help deliver accessibility projects faster, safer and with significantly less disruption to passengers and rail operations.

We can’t wait to see the first four lifts leave the factory and become operational on the railway.

We are delighted to announce that ADL Lift Services Ltd has been successfully awarded the contract to undertake a lift replacement project for North East Scotland College.

Following a competitive tender process, we are proud to have been selected to deliver this important project. The award reflects the confidence placed in ADL's technical expertise, project delivery capability, and commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality lift solutions.

The project will involve the replacement of an existing lift installation, providing North East Scotland College with a renewed, reliable, and compliant lift system that will enhance accessibility and improve the experience for students, staff, and visitors alike.

This award further strengthens ADL's growing presence in the Aberdeen and North East Scotland region, where we continue to invest in long-term relationships and support an expanding portfolio of customers across the education, housing, healthcare, commercial, and public sectors.
