Long before Townsend Enterprise Park became home to businesses and entrepreneurs, this little corner of Belfast was already helping people build a better future.
Townsend Street Presbyterian Church became a major force for education in Victorian Belfast, establishing a network of 19 schools, with almost 6,000 children attending at their peak.
And there was an important principle behind them.
The schools welcomed children regardless of their religious or cultural background, with education seen as a way of helping families out of poverty.
One was Brown Street National School, while a schoolhouse also stood right here behind Townsend Street Presbyterian Church, opening in 1878.
And that educational legacy didn't simply disappear. Edenbrooke and Malvern Primary Schools continue to serve the local community today.
Nearly 150 years later, the buildings and purpose may have changed, but that belief in opportunity, education and improving people's lives is still very much part of Townsend's DNA.
