Issue 003 of 'The Stories of Our Trailblazers' is here, featuring none other than Andy Olive of Appy Days Catering

Andy has been a Trailblazer customer for over 10 years, and during that time he has returned again and again as the business has grown.

Today, Appy Days operates a whopping fleet of 7 Trailblazers.

But make no mistake, Andy’s route to where he is today has been anything but straightforward.

A food truck scam. An unsafe gas conversion. A catering van breaking down, leaving him stranded at the roadside. And, as if that wasn’t enough, a garage fire completely destroyed his first Trailblazer just days before one of the biggest events he had booked.

Andy’s journey has been a bit like a gruelling 12-round fight. Plenty of people would have thrown in the towel long before the championship rounds.

Andy didn’t.

This is a story about resilience, taking the knocks and refusing to stay down.

Hi guys,

We’re delighted to share Issue 002 of 'The Stories of Our Trailblazers.'

This time, we’re heading to North Cork to meet Jack, founder of The Flaming Cook.

What began as a light-bulb moment for a sound engineer with no previous catering experience has grown into a highly successful mobile catering business.

Today, Jack has three Trailblazers on the road, a busy diary and a business built entirely through word of mouth, with zero marketing spend.

It’s an honest story about starting small, learning as you go and recognising an opportunity when it appears.

Great to see Daryl from Smoke BBQ Ltd / Smoke on the Road getting the spotlight from Irish News this week as he caters for the crowds at Belfast . 🔥

"It's just a burger grill..." 🤔

That's probably the biggest misconception people have when they hear the words BBQ trailer.

When Richard from The Finger Licker first got in touch with Trailblazer back in 2017, he had one goal: to use his years of chefing experience to build a catering business of his own.

In 2024, he finally took the plunge with a 1200 Streetmaster.

Fast forward just over a year, and he's already preparing for his biggest event to date.

But what really stood out when we caught up with Richard wasn't the size of the jobs...

It was how he's using his Trailblazer.

Yes, he's serving incredible burgers, steaks, ribs and brisket.

But he's also discovered something many people never consider.

By using the integrated rear smoker as a large commercial oven, Richard is producing complete Sunday carveries from his Trailblazer.

Roast meats. Crispy potatoes. Fresh vegetables. Yorkshire puddings. The lot.

It's a brilliant example of how a Trailblazer isn't just a BBQ, it's a complete outdoor cooking system that can open the door to new menus, new customers and new revenue streams throughout the year.
