Yard Operative – Sleator Plant
Reports to: Head of Service
Employment: Full-time
The role
Maintain a safe, tidy and organised yard, prepare machines and attachments for delivery, and assist with loading, unloading and customer collections.
Key responsibilities
• Clean and prepare machines and attachments for delivery or collection.
• Keep the yard, wash bay and storage areas tidy and safe.
• Move machinery and operate handling equipment within your training and authorisation.
• Assist with loading, unloading and checking deliveries.
• Attend to customers promptly and professionally.
• Ensure approval and paperwork are in place before releasing equipment.
• Support stock checks and report damage, missing items or discrepancies.
• Assist the workshop team with basic tasks under instruction.
• Follow safety procedures and help secure the depot.
Requirements
• Reliable, punctual and practical.
• Good teamwork and customer service skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors and follow instructions.
• Previous yard or machinery experience desirable.
• Forklift training and a full driving licence advantageous.
