This stage might not look the most exciting, but it is one of the most important.

Before welding, it was essential to make sure this frame was 100% straight and true. The design itself is fairly simple, but if there had been any twist in the shelves, the finished piece would not have worked properly as a door.

The client specifically wanted the finished piece to keep an unfinished, industrial look, so the focus here was on accuracy, function and getting the fabrication right rather than creating a polished decorative finish.

That is the difference good fabrication makes. It is not just about getting something welded together. It is about making sure it fits, functions and does the job it was built for.

A lot of the quality in the finished result comes from the care taken at this stage.
