2005 Subaru Impreza Wrx blobeye
After the fiesta sold I could concentrate on finishing my current project
Now some people think I was mad to sell the fiesta but after all these years I wanted something I could restore and modify to my own taste again, but more importantly something much more usable on a daily basis if I fancied it and this car does exactly that
It drives absolutely lovely
It has Air conditioning lol
It has 4 doors and the kids seats fit in it
It has drinks holders
It has a stereo for my 90’s classics lol and I love it
I’ve only done 230 odd miles since a full nut and bolt restorations and full engine build, so a few hundred more miles before mapping and some boost to hopefully make a nice enjoyable 300 to 350 hp
Why do that to a wrx people have said! What’s the point, should have bought an STI…….blah blah blah
Well as always I didn’t plan to do all this when I bought it but most of us car enthusiasts never do, it just gets out of hand and spirals from there
Do I miss the fiesta? Yes 100% it was a passion and labour of love for so many years and that fiesta started me in what I do now, learning to weld, buying and using my first bench lathe and mill to make stuff for it etc took me on a journey to where I am and what I do today rig welding and using cnc mills and lathes
The Subaru entire build and resto only took 18 months, and although it’s not so special to other people, I can enjoy this car with the wife and kids on a nice drive out to anywhere at anytime or I can drive it on my own to work or the shops, I love it
People of all ages still love the burble of a flat 4 Subaru and it still gets a lot of looks and nice comments as a 21 year old icon
Right now this is what i’m enjoying and it’s been great building it and having a project again, especially as it didn’t take as long this time around lol
