The owner of this car is a care worker who is on call and desperately needs his car to be a working one. Worried that it might be an expensive repair. Anyhow, told him to bring it to me at 7:30pm on a Saturday night as an emergency to see if I can help him. Diagnostic done with fault codes for turbo position. Turned out the fault was caused by a split vacuum hose to the boost control solenoid. I had to chop the split but of the hose off and then reattach it. He is ordering more hose so we can do a proper job but for now his car is sorted.

I don’t think I give this car enough credit. I’ve probably been too harsh on it. Now I’ve sorted the ride quality, it kind of seems a shame to sell it. But I move jobs in a few weeks and a diesel car makes no sense for my new, very short commute to work
