Porsche 971 Panamera Turbo
Another successful calibration session completed on our Dynojet 424x linked dyno cell, this time for a Porsche 971 Panamera Turbo receiving our Stage 1 ECU and PDK calibration package.
The end result was a substantial improvement in performance, with gains of approximately 100–125 bhp and 100 lb-ft of torque, while maintaining the drivability, refinement and character expected from a Porsche flagship.
Following the calibration, the customer shared Dragy performance data which provided an excellent real-world measure of the improvement. The Panamera reduced its 100–200 km/h time from 8.68 seconds in stock form to just 7.25 seconds with our Stage 1 ECU and PDK calibration package. For a completely standard hardware vehicle, we consider this a very solid result and a clear demonstration of the performance available from a well-developed software calibration.
The Panamera now feels significantly stronger throughout the rev range, delivering effortless overtaking performance and improved responsiveness without compromising the smooth, refined driving experience that makes it such an impressive all-rounder.
This particular vehicle was running an early software version and proved to be considerably more involved than usual. The factory ECU used an uncommon calibration structure and software layout which meant our usual software version build process was not possible for this application.
Instead, the calibration had to be manually developed and constructed from the ground up using development knowledge and data gathered from later 971 Turbo software versions. This significantly increased the development time required for the project, but allowed us to achieve the level of refinement, integration and drivability we expect from every PERON calibration.
Most importantly, another happy customer leaving with a car that performs exactly as it should have from the factory, only with considerably more power and torque available throughout the operating range.
