As demand for data centre infrastructure continues to grow, so too does the need for reliable backup power - and the systems that keep it running.

We were recently asked by a world-leading manufacturer of industrial engines and generators to specify cooling pumps for a significant number of generator sets currently in production.

Working with our long-standing product partners at KSB Company, our Technical Sales team specified KSB's Etaline pumps, selected to meet the customer's requirements around reliability, material selection and operation in high ambient temperatures.

It's another great example of a relationship that has developed over many years between DPS and KSB - combining strong product technology with the application knowledge of our own team to find the right solution for the job.

And this one has some distance to travel!

This is just the first of four shipments, with supply continuing into 2027 before the equipment ultimately makes its way to Germany.

Sunshine, friendly competition and plenty of laughs – all the ingredients for a great team day out!☀️🎯

Our latest Employee Day brought 35 of us together for a fantastic day of clay pigeon shooting, field games, a BBQ and some well-earned time away from the day job at Field of Dreams, Bangor.

As we continue to grow, days like these become even more important. They're an opportunity to strengthen the relationships that help us work so well together, welcome newer team members, catch up with colleagues from across the business and simply enjoy each other's company outside of work.

Now that said, there was plenty of healthy competition throughout the day, with Ben Talec taking home the Overall Winner award, while Paula Kydd proudly accepted this year's Wooden Spoon! Both were presented by our General Manager, Aidan McGinley (looking rather ominous in the dark photos!) 🤣

And so Day 2 comes to an end with all peaks on the schedule completed!

We started in the lashing rain, were met with gushes of water as we ascended Devil's Ladder - again! Flashbacks to 2023 for the second day in a row!

Three teams started - each taking on peaks of varying difficulty and most suited to their experience - and three teams came home safely - always the aim of the game.

We returned to Cronin's Yard in glorious sunshine and warmth - a welcome change!

Day 2 of the 40 Peaks Challenge and it feels like Nick, Curtis, Alan, Ross, Gareth, Ben Talec and Norman only just dried off before they were heading back out again!

But early morning reinforcements came in the shape of some of the gang from EPS Group so we could break up into 3 teams to tackle as many of the MacGillycuddy Reeks as possible.

With one in the bag last night - amid testing conditions! - the overnight rain and early morning showers with the potential to lift and brighten at some point gave us some hope as we prepared to leave Cronin’s Yard.

Not before we bumped into one of Ireland’s best known mountaineer & adventurers Pat Falvey Irish & Worldwide Adventures! Pat also generously contributed to the 40 Peaks fund which was much appreciated 👏🗻

Long day ahead - here’s a flavour of how it’s going so far, more updates later, just a bit busy at the moment 😉🤣

But looking forward to returning to base and our (probably rain soaked) BBQ 🍖🍗🍔

Well done our boys!

The 40 Peaks Challenge is officially underway - and we’ve one in the bag already! 👏🗻

After their epic road trip to Kerry via Portlaoise and Castleisland, Gareth, Nick, Norman, Curtis, Alan, Ross and Ben took on Cruach Mhor - and the fairly inclement weather conditions - which triggered PTSD in those who had also undertaken the 5 Peaks back in 2023 but they overcame!

Back down now and maybe a 🍻 to Day 1 and Peak 1 and strategise for Day 2 where we’ll be joined by more colleagues from EPS Group, while our Group colleagues on the other teams taking on the peaks in England, Scotland and Wales will also be in the mix - it’s shaping up to be a fun weekend!

Also, the online Challengers group are collectively trying to beat our step count from the ground so we’ll see how that goes 🦶

We got more donations in during Peak 1 so thanks again for those - spread the word - our charity of choice is Marie Curie UK and WaterAid UK but there are many others we have chosen to support as they mean a lot to our fellow climbers.

With just days to go until the 40 Peaks Challenge, the timing couldn't have been better for members of the DPS team to attend the WaterAid UK AGM.

WaterAid, one of the beneficiaries and inspirations behind our challenge, was founded 45 years ago and has helped more than 30 million people gain access to clean drinking water, decent sanitation and good hygiene around the world.

Pictured are Gareth Wilson and Nick Torrens, both members of the Northern Ireland WaterAid Committee, alongside Sara Venning, CEO of Northern Ireland Water and Erin Cawley of WaterAid who wished the teams well ahead of this weekend's challenge.

This weekend, around 50 colleagues from across the EPS Group will take on 40 peaks across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, with an ambitious goal of raising £/€40,000 for a number of fantastic charities, including:

💙 Irish Hospice Foundation
💙 Marie Curie UK
💙 University Hospitals Birmingham Charity
💙 LOROS Hospice
💙 National Autistic Society
💙 SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health)

The challenge has already generated incredible support. Our supply chain partners have stepped up to sponsor countries and peaks, colleagues have been fundraising in all sorts of creative ways and those staying at lower altitude this weekend will be taking part in our Outstep the Challengers challenge to see if they can collectively beat the climbers' step count.

We think we may have found the youngest member of the 40 Peaks training squad ⛰️❤️

Gareth Wilson was joined by his son Cooper on the final Tuesday Trek before this weekend's 40 Peaks Challenge and judging by the photo, it looks like Cooper is taking it all in his stride!

In fact, from where we're standing, Dad's energy might be the one that's starting to falter...😄

Cooper wanted to know where Dad had been heading to for the last few weeks - so now he knows first hand! You just have to scroll through the pics to see the joy on his face when he reached the summit 👏🏼📸

As the countdown continues, the excitement is building across the Group. Final preparations are being made, routes are being fine-tuned, boots are being broken in and teams are getting ready to take on one of our biggest fundraising challenges yet.

There's still time to support the cause, with donations continuing to be accepted as we make one final push towards our fundraising target 💪

Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference and it's all going to charity - a reminder that our local charity of choice is Marie Curie UK.
