The job is still on the technician.

A fault code isn't a diagnosis. It's a starting point.

The code tells you which circuit the ECU isn't happy with. It doesn't tell you whether it's the component, the wiring, the connector, or the ECU itself. Swap the part on the strength of the code alone and you're guessing with the customer's money.

Why overcomplicate things? A full-cast brake disc is a rather smart alternative to the usual two-piece setup.

They’re more cost-effective for the workshop, a doddle to fit, and they handle heat brilliantly. You still get top-tier stopping power, fully backed by ECE R90 approval. Simple as that.

The new LBE 2 310 high-beam LED lightbar ran on the #26 PROsport Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo through the night stints of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. 3,800 lumens of homogeneous high beam from 60 LEDs, in an aluminium housing rated to IP69K and built to keep working from minus 40 up to plus 65 degrees. The kind of spec sheet that sounds excessive until you remember the Green Hell is fourteen miles of unlit forest, the weather changes by the corner, and you're trying to read a braking point at racing speed.

The lightbar is built for off-road, agricultural and commercial use, where conditions are rarely kind and the cost of a light failing is rarely small. The 24 is a brutally fast way to find out whether something is what the data sheet says it is.

Emissions failure on the MOT? Most people blame the cat.

But a lot of the time, it isn't. 👈️❌️

The pre-cat O2 sensor is fluctuating between roughly 0.1 and 0.8 volts hundreds of times a minute, telling the ECU to add fuel or pull it back. When that signal drifts, the mixture drifts with it, and the emissions follow. Replacing the cat won't fix a sensor problem.

And no, you don't clean these. Fit a new one.

Twenty hours in, our race was over. 😟

The #26 PROsport Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo had been as high as sixth. Mik Grenier, Chris Lulham, Marek Böckmann and Adam Christodoulou were driving the wheels off it. Then the splitter let go, and continuing wasn't worth the risk. The right call, made at the right time.

That's what the Green Hell is for. It's the most honest test of a car, a crew and a component that motorsport has. Things that survive it tend to survive everything else. Things that don't, you fix and come back smarter. Twenty-four hours is a long time to ask anything to keep working at full attack.
