Thank you to everyone who recently completed a Community Priorities survey. This is a public consultation that our Neighbourhood Policing Teams carry out every 3 months. In the survey, we ask you to vote for the three issues that you feel should form the teams' main focus (enforcement and prevention). Today we announce the results, including the locations you highlighted:

BICESTER TOWN (no change from previous survey results in January 2026):
âť— Retail Crime (Bicester town centre).
❗ Anti-Social Behaviour (Bicester town centre, including Garth Park, Launton Road, including the overbridge into Langford Village).
❗ Drug dealing/misuse (Bicester town centre, including Garth Park, Launton Road, including the overbridge into Langford Village).

BICESTER RURAL:
❗ Drug dealing/misuse (Ambrosden, Arncott, Graven Hill, Wendlebury and Kingsmere).
âť— Burglary prevention/advice (Middleton Stoney, Somerton, Lower Heyford, Heyford Park, Steeple Aston, North Aston, Middle Aston, Duns Tew, Fritwell, Souldern, Ardley & Fewcott and Caulcott).
âť— Trailer/plant equipment Theft (rural locations generally).

KIDLINGTON:
âť— Drug dealing/misuse & Anti-Social Behaviour (Grovelands, Exeter Close Park and Park Hill Recreation Ground.).
❗ E-Scooters/ E- Bikes (whole of Kidlington ).
âť— Burglary crime prevention (Kidlington, Gosford and Yarnton).

These priorities will be in place until the end of August 2026, when we will update with the results of the operational activities carried out in response,

Yesterday, we carried out speeding checks on Hennef Way, Banbury between 6.30am and 8.30am in a 40mph zone.

During this short period:

âť— 97 drivers were found exceeding the speed limit
đźš— The highest recorded speed was 81mph
đźšš 2 large goods vehicles (LGVs) were also caught speeding

Speeding significantly increases the risk of serious collisions and puts everyone in danger. These figures highlight why our enforcement activity is so important.

Please slow down, stick to the speed limits, and help keep our roads safe for everyone.

We’ve recently posted from this account about the Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Community Priorities survey, in which residents of the villages around Bicester (plus the Kingsmere, Graven Hill and Elmsbrook estates in Bicester town) have the opportunity to vote for what they think the next 3 Community Priorities should be, for the period June to August 2026. The link to their survey is here: https://orlo.uk/l60UW

This is a reminder that the Bicester Town Neighbourhood Policing Team’s own survey is also online and you can cast your votes at this link: https://orlo.uk/mPnIb

Both surveys will close at midnight on Sunday 31st May 2026, so you’ve not got long to make your views count! We will publish the results here, plus also via Community Messaging (Thames Valley Alert) and on the “Your Area” section of the main Thames Valley Police website.

🚨A 32% drop in anti-social behaviour in Banbury town centre🚨

Neighbourhood officers identified key individuals and issued Community Protection Warnings and Notices, which have not been breached. They also carried out patrols in hotspot areas such as the High Street and White Lion Walk, working closely with partners including Cherwell District Council and Homeless Oxfordshire to support vulnerable people.

As part of this joint approach we have seen:
âś… 32% reduction in overall incidents
âś… 33% reduction in suspect-related incidents
âś… 3 Community Protection Notices issued
âś… Town centre no longer considered a hotspot

We will continue patrols to maintain this progress.

Please keep reporting anti-social behaviour via our website or by calling 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.

PCSO Kennard from the Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team will be back out on the road this Saturday (30th May 2026) for our next "Have Your Say" roadshow. A Have Your Say session is an informal drop-in meeting where you can speak directly to officers with local knowledge of the area about crime or anti-social behaviour issues affecting you. We're also happy to signpost to other relevant agencies for other matters. The locations he'll be calling at are: -

- From 10.30am to 11.30am - Starbucks, Finmere Services (A421), Finmere.
- From 12 midday to 1.00pm - Ambrosden Community Hall, Merton Road, Ambrosden.
- From 1.30pm to 2.30pm - Bus stop next to the community library, Alchester Road, Chesterton.

It’ll also be the last face to face opportunity if you live in one of the villages around Bicester (and also the Elmsbrook, Graven Hill and Kingsmere estates in the town) to complete a Community Priorities survey, in order to identify the 3 priority issues you think the team should focus on, for the period June to August 2026.

However, if you’re unable to make it and would still like to complete the survey, you can do so online here: https://orlo.uk/ucoYH

The survey will remain open until midnight on Sunday 31st May 2026, so you’ve not got long to make your views count!

Our Live Facial Recognition (LFR) vans will be coming to Sheep Street, Bicester, on Friday (29/5)

The specialist LFR team will be working alongside our local officers to identify known suspects, deter crime and help keep our communities safer for everyone.

We make sure to let you know before our LFR vans are in use, so everyone stays informed about what’s happening. While this can mean some individuals choose to avoid us, the vans can help deter crime and keep the area safer.

Preventing crime is just as important as catching those who break the law.

If you have any questions or would like to see how the technology works, feel free to come over and chat with our team. We’re always happy to show you around and explain how LFR is used fairly and responsibly.
