This vehicle has been seized by officers after reports that it was being driven by individuals with no driving licence.

Checks confirmed there was also no valid insurance in place. Despite the driver attempting to evade police the vehicle was located and seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

Driving without a licence or insurance places other road users at risk and we will continue to take positive action where offences are identified.

We are also aware of ongoing concerns regarding motorcycles being ridden anti-socially in the Banbury area. We have seen comments on social media suggesting police are not taking action. We would like to reassure the public that these concerns are being taken seriously and an investigation is underway.

Not all police activity is visible and some tactics are deliberately not overt. Officers are actively progressing a number of lines of enquiry and gathering evidence to identify those responsible.

🚔 An Evening on Patrol with the Special Constabulary 🚔
Special Sergeant Barlow and crewmate were out volunteering their time to keep our communities safe when they came across a group of youths whilst conducting enquiries to locate an unrelated moped.

The group immediately attracted attention due to several wearing face coverings, but it was the overwhelming smell of cannabis that prompted officers to take a closer look👀 🕵

A stop search was conducted and, whilst matters became a little more dynamic than planned and briefly ended up with officers and a suspect on the floor, the team remained professional, secured the evidence and dealt with the matter appropriately. An out-of-court disposal was subsequently issued for the cannabis recovered🌱

🚨We are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision in Bicester.

At approximately 10am this morning, a collision involving a blue Scania flat-bed truck, a black Peugeot 106 and a grey Honda HR-V occurred at the junction of Wretchwick Way and Peregrine Way.

Tragically, the driver of the Peugeot, a 75-year-old man, died as a result of the collision. A female passenger in the Peugeot sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. The driver of the Scania truck was uninjured.

We ask drivers who were in the area before the collision to review their dash-cam footage, as it may contain information that could assist our investigation.

⚠️INCIDENT ⚠️

Our officers are at the scene of an assault in Banbury.

We were called by South Central Ambulance Service to People's Park at around 6.30am, following an incident where a man in his thirties was assaulted and left with serious injuries.

The victim is in hospital at this time and we can confirm that his injuries are not life-threatening.

We understand the concern that incidents like this can cause but please be assured that we are investigating it as a priority and have more police officers in the area today.

If anyone has concerns or questions, please speak with a uniformed officer in the area. 👮🏼‍♂️

Banbury 📍 Neighbourhood Arrests 👮

Our neighbourhood officers were out patrolling when they spotted and arrested two wanted individuals 👏

✅ One wanted for failing to appear at court
✅ One wanted for failing to comply with a Community Order

Banbury 📍 Neighbourhood Patrols 🌙
Following comments about concerns in the Gateway Retail Park area, Banbury Neighbourhood Officers conducted patrols and quickly came across a vehicle being driven in an anti-social manner.

Officers identified:
💡 No lights being displayed
🔊 A modified exhaust causing excessive noise
⚠️ Speeding and revving
🚗 Anti-social driving behaviour

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued with a Section 59 Warning.
📋 A Section 59 Warning means that if the vehicle, or driver, is involved in similar anti-social driving within the next 12 months, the vehicle can be seized by police.
The driver was educated regarding their driving, advised of the consequences of further offending, and sent home safely.

✅ You raise concerns, we act. We will continue carrying out patrols in hotspot locations across Banbury to tackle anti-social behaviour and keep our communities safe.

Banbury 📍 Neighbourhood Evening Patrols 🚔

Whilst out on proactive patrols this evening, PCSO Jones supported by Special Sgt Barlow, stopped a rider using a privately owned e-scooter in the town centre.

The rider was initially obstructive but eventually provided the required details. Officers explained the legislation and why enforcement action was being taken before the e-scooter was seized. 🚨

❌ It is not legal to ride a privately owned e-scooter on public roads, pavements or cycle paths.

These vehicles are classed as motor vehicles and require insurance and other legal requirements that privately owned e-scooters generally do not have.

📊 This seizure brings the total to 15 e-scooters seized by Banbury officers in recent weeks.

Banbury 📍Neighbourhood Patrols 🚔
Officers from Banbury Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out proactive patrols this evening, resulting in two males being stopped and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Cannabis was recovered from both individuals and they were dealt with by way of Community Resolutions, providing an opportunity to educate them on the consequences of drug possession and the wider impact drugs have on our communities.

❌ "It's okay to have cannabis if it's only for personal use."
✅ Incorrect.

Cannabis remains a Class B controlled drug and possession of cannabis is an offence, regardless of the amount. Whether it is a small quantity for personal use or a larger amount, officers will take appropriate action when drugs are found.

Neighbourhood officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols and stop searches where grounds exist, helping to tackle drug use, reduce anti-social behaviour and keep Banbury a safe place to live, work and visit.

🚨 ARREST DETAILS 🚨

ICR Team 5 have been out attending incidents throughout our last night shift of the set and safeguarding victims by utilising our powers of arrest.

⛓️ PC Reeve, has arrested a 40 year old female, from Bampton under suspicion of domestic common assault and coercive controlling behaviour.

⛓️ PC Jeffrey-Mort, has arrested a 53 year old female, from Banbury under suspicion of domestic common assault.

Both females remain in custody at this time where they will be interviewed by our colleagues in the morning.

We are limited as to what details we can go into during the early stages of any investigation due to legislation. However, we can publish the above details which gives you an idea of the work we have done within our community within our shift. We may publish more details if suspects are convicted at court, which again is carefully managed through our Media Team.

Banbury📍 Anti-social Behaviour Patrols 👮

While many people were settling down for the evening, your Banbury Neighbourhood Policing Team were out across the town carrying out targeted patrols in anti-social behaviour hotspot locations🌙

Here's a snapshot of just some of what we got up to this evening 👇

🚗 Car Park Patrols: Following reports of rough sleeping and suspected drug use, officers visited several car parks across Banbury. Our aim was to check on the welfare of anyone sleeping rough, offer support and signposting to appropriate services, and ensure there was no discarded drug paraphernalia left behind that could pose a danger to the public 💙

🚨 Supporting Emergency Incidents: Neighbourhood officers also assisted our response colleagues with several Grade 1 incidents, including: 👊 A fight in progress and a domestic-related incident🏠

🤔 Proactive Patrols: Whilst patrolling the town centre, officers encountered two males drinking alcohol within a Public Space Protection Area. Both were spoken to, stop checked, given words of advice regarding their behaviour, and sent on their way. ✅

🏡 Listening to Local Concerns: We also visited residents at a supported living accommodation following reports of nuisance behaviour involving individuals knocking on doors and running away. Officers provided reassurance, gathered information, and discussed ongoing concerns with residents. 🤝

💡 Neighbourhood policing is about far more than responding to crime. Every shift involves safeguarding vulnerable people, preventing harm, tackling ASB, engaging with the community, and being visible where we're needed most.
