GES Group

GES Group GES Group (Grants Electrical Services Ltd) is a leading Electrical and Mechanical Engineering company

Established over 40 years as Grants Electrical Services (NI) Ltd., we have grown into GES Group, a leading Electrical and Mechanical Engineering company, serving customers throughout Ireland, the UK and beyond. We respond quickly to Industry's ever-changing demands and needs, while offering geographic coverage to many of our customers. Traditionally AC/DC motor rewind and re-manufacture specialist

s, we have developed our portfolio as a market leader to now provide an extensive range of technically advanced products and services. We are an essential element in maintaining and strengthening the backbone of the power generation, industrial, manufacturing, and agri-structure of Ireland and the UK. We are the silent partner to Industry and the economy, working with a wide variety of businesses and plant, from the smallest pumps to the largest pumping stations, from small milk parlors to the largest dairy processing facilities, ensuring all electrical and mechanical equipment required to keep infrastructure operational is available 365 days a year. We pride ourselves on building strong partnerships with customers, providing power and energy solutions for small local businesses, as well as large multi-nationals across a diverse range of industries, such as: Plastic Manufacturers, AD Plants, Wind Farms, Food & Drink Manufacturers, Engineering Specialists, Ship & Aerospace Manufacturing, Water Treatment Facilities, Power Stations, etc. The most basic plant and machinery, and the most advanced communication networking systems, all rely on electricity. If this is not available, the resulting power failure renders a business entirely un-operational. Today, almost all business functions are dependent on a steadfast and clean electrical supply - one that is well designed, maintained, automated & controlled, energy efficient, and mechanically vibration-free. At GES Group, we uniquely specialise in each of these aspects, which combine to build strong and reliable electrical and mechanical power systems. Using a holistic approach, we provide for all of our customer needs in-house. For more information, or to speak to one of our team, call us on: 02825 656406, or email: [email protected].

We’re really pleased to welcome Jamie Graham back to the GES Group team as a Mechanical Fitter 👏

Jamie first joined GES Group as an apprentice and was part of the business 8 years ago, so it’s fantastic to see him return with even more experience, knowledge, and expertise behind him.

From day one, Jamie has slotted straight back in like he never left. It’s been great seeing him reconnect with familiar faces he worked alongside before, while also getting to know the many new additions to the team over the years 🤝

Having people return to GES Group says a lot about the relationships built here, and we’re delighted to have Jamie back as part of the team once again.

Welcome back, Jamie! 👷‍♂️🔧

We’re really excited to welcome a new Electrical Engineer to the team! ⚡👏

Based at our Ballymena headquarters and working out on site across our projects, we’re delighted to have him on board.

Finding the right engineer can be difficult, so it’s always a great feeling when the right person comes along, especially someone who already knows a few familiar faces within the team 🙌

Keep an eye out, we’ll be sharing a proper meet the team post soon!

🚣‍♂️🏆 PORTRUSH RAFT RACE CHAMPIONS 2026 🏆🚣‍♂️

FOURTH time entering.
THREE years finishing 2nd.
THIS year… we finally brought it home 🥇

We said it was coming home with us this year and we made it happen 👏

Massive congratulations to the whole team for winning the Portrush Raft Race 2026 in aid of Cancer Focus NI 💙

Safe to say the years of hard work, raft upgrades and determination finally paid off.

Brilliant effort from everyone involved and even better to do it all for such a great cause.

Well done lads 👏

🚣‍♂️ PORTRUSH RAFT RACE 2026 🚣‍♂️

Saturday 23rd May | Portrush

Year 4 for the team and once again we’re hitting the water in aid of the brilliant Cancer Focus Northern Ireland 💙

Three years in a row finishing 2nd place… which means there’s only one job left this year 👀🥇

The team may change year to year, but one thing stays consistent… the raft is built like a champion. Countless hours, plenty of effort, and more than a few “engineering meetings” have gone into perfecting it again this year.

Massive credit to everyone involved for the hard work behind the scenes getting race-ready. Now it’s time to bring home the win 🤝

Best of luck to the whole crew on Saturday and regardless of the result, the post-race pints will be very well earned 🍻

If you see the team in Portrush, give them a shout and support a fantastic cause!

Today on International Human Resources Day, we’re giving a massive shout out to our Group HR Manager, Maeve Cunning, for everything she does for our team 👏☘️

Looking after over 100 employees is no easy job, but Maeve somehow keeps the business running smoothly, the compliance up to date and the staff in line… especially the lads when they need brought back into line now and again 😂

From recruiting the right people for the right roles, to managing apprenticeships with NRC, SERC and Belfast Met, Maeve plays a huge role in the continued success and growth of the business.

Anyone who knows HR knows the role goes far beyond interviews and policies. It’s dealing with workplace wellbeing, problem solving, training, mentoring and keeping everyone organised while the rest of us try to test her patience 🤣📋

Of course, it wouldn’t be Maeve without the sarcasm, jump scares, random pranks and the odd bit of workplace mischief along the way 😂

Maeve also represents the company at events across the country and is always promoting our values and supporting our people.

Thanks for all your hard work, patience and dedication Maeve, it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed 👏

✨ Employee Spotlight: Joseph McNally ✨

Meet Joey, one of the sharpest sparks in the GES crew ⚡

If you’ve ever been caught off guard by a question you didn’t see coming, chances are Joey was nearby. Curious by nature and never short of a quick-witted reply, he keeps everyone on their toes.

Recently dipping his toes into the world of running, Joey didn’t exactly ease himself in. After being nominated by a colleague to take on a leg of the Belfast City Marathon, he didn’t hesitate for a second, stepping up to the challenge and proving he was well able for it.

A proud (and very vocal) Manchester United supporter, he brings a bit of friendly chaos to the office, especially when certain Liverpool fans are within earshot. Let’s just say… it’s never quiet.

Whether it’s tackling challenges, asking the questions others won’t, or keeping spirits high with a bit of craic, Joey is a brilliant example of the energy and personality that make GES what it is.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, a great reminder that at GES Group, supporting mental wellbeing is something we prioritise all year round 💙

This year is all about taking action, for you, for someone else, and for all of us. Small, practical steps can make a real difference:

🚶 For you: Step outside for a 5-minute walk, stretch, or take a proper screen break
☕ For someone else: Invite a colleague for a quick coffee or check in with a simple “how’s your day going?”
🗣️ For all of us: Start the conversation, share how you’re feeling or create space for others to do the same

These actions might feel small, but they help build a more supportive, open, and resilient culture for everyone.

Small actions, real impact. Let’s keep it going 💬

Huge congratulations to the team who took part in the Belfast City Marathon Relay on Sunday 👏🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

A great day all round and a proper team effort from start to finish, with everyone digging in and doing their bit to get it over the line. We’re really proud of everyone who took part and represented the team so well 🙌

A special well done also to our colleague Darren, who completed the full marathon with Ballymena Runners , an outstanding achievement and a huge effort on the day 👏
There’s definitely a few sore legs this week… and by a few, we mean most of the team 😅 A fair bit of hobbling, some questionable attempts at walking normally, and a universal agreement that stairs are absolutely not worth it. The finish line scenes were exactly what you’d expect… straight down on the ground, questioning life choices, before quickly remembering there were well deserved pints waiting 🍻

On a more serious note, this was all in support of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, so a genuine thank you to everyone who has donated so far 💙 It really does make a difference. If you’ve been meaning to, there’s still time to support: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/gesgroup-cancerfocusni

Well done everyone who took part! 👏
