Paul plays a key role in driving business growth across both UK and international markets by developing strong client relationships and securing new opportunities. His role involves promoting the company’s engineering services, managing client accounts, and working closely with Engineering, Production, and Contracts teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client expectations and company standards.

With a strong background in heavy industrial engineering within the cement and quarrying industries, Paul brings valuable industry knowledge and practical experience to the role. His understanding of industrial operations and customer requirements allows him to support clients with tailored engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors.

‼️ MAINTENANCE FITTER ‼️

As Ross Companies Limited continues to expand and increase in workload, we are looking for a motivated, hardworking, and enthusiastic Maintenance Fitter to join our growing team.

We offer a very competitive salary, company van, tools and the opportunity to work on an array of plant and machinery across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Installing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
β€’ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
β€’ Diagnosing faults and carrying out reactive maintenance and repairs.
β€’ Carrying out continuous improvements to reduce customer downtime.
β€’ Completing maintenance records and reporting faults or equipment issues.
β€’ Working in compliance with all Health & Safety policies.

Essential Criteria
β€’ Mechanical engineering qualification or minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar roll.
β€’ Working Knowledge of mechanical drives, conveyors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
β€’ Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures within an industrial environment.
β€’ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
β€’ Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills.
β€’ Ability to work both on your own and as part of a small team, proficiently, without immediate supervision.

Desired Criteria
β€’ Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical manuals.
β€’ Welding and fabrication experience or qualifications.
β€’ CSR Card
β€’ Experience working at height and from MEWP’s
β€’ Experience as a slinger, carrying out lifting operations.

Meet Sharon, Operations & Payroll Administrator at Ross Companies Ltd.

Sharon plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring that operations, payroll, and administration all run smoothly and efficiently. Acting as a central link between management, finance, and engineering teams, she helps maintain accurate workforce tracking, processes weekly payroll through Sage, and ensures all records are up to date and compliant.

Alongside payroll and timekeeping, Sharon manages purchase ledger activities, processes supplier invoices, and supports the finance function with accurate financial administration.

She also maintains the company CRM system, oversees holiday and leave tracking, and coordinates vehicle compliance β€” ensuring MOTs, servicing, and key dates such as insurance renewals are never missed. As the first point of contact for calls and visitors, she helps create a professional and organised front-of-house environment.

What Sharon enjoys most about her role is the variety it brings. No two days are the same, and she enjoys being involved in different areas of the business while working closely with teams to keep everything running smoothly.

‼️ LEAD MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE ‼️

As Ross Companies Limited continues to expand and increase in workload, we are looking for a motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team at our new Ballymena site.

We offer very competitive salary, and the opportunity to join an expanding group of companies with excellent opportunities for career progression, promotions, and pay rises.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

β€’ Minimum 8+ years experience in mechanical design engineering within bulk material handling, storage systems, or heavy industrial environments.
β€’ Experience designing conveyors, hoppers, silos, chutes, feeders, and material handling systems.
β€’ Ability to lead and coordinate mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.
β€’ Producing detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, GA layouts, and fabrication packages.
β€’ Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, and industrial manufacturing processes.
β€’ Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD.
β€’ Carrying out engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and design reviews.
β€’ Coordinating with workshop teams, site teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
β€’ Supporting installation, commissioning, and problem solving on-site where required.
β€’ Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and development of engineering standards.
β€’ Ability to mentor junior engineers and support team development.
β€’ Excellent communication and organisational skills.
β€’ Strong focus on quality, safety, and efficient project delivery.
β€’ Complete any special projects as needed/demanded and support other areas of operations where required.
