We have now re-registered with Safe Electric Ireland and are able to carry out and certify our electrical installations in Ireland.

With a strong background in electrical compliance we are now able to carry out EICR’s or Periodic Inspections to I.S. 10101:2020+AC2:2025

It’s maybe a sign of business maturity that these milestones almost slip past unnoticed these days, but nonetheless it’s always good to mark it.

11 Weeks and counting! 🏠

Incoming changes to the laws here in Northern Ireland state that from the 1st April 2025 all new tenancies should have an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) completed.

And any existing tenancies have a grace period until December 2025.

With a quoted 350’000 rental properties in Northern Ireland this will be a huge task for landlords as experienced and competent test engineers are in short supply.

🏠 PRIVATE RENTAL LANDLORDS 🏠

Upcoming changes to the Private Tenancies Act (NI) 2022 mean that landlords ‘MUST’ have a valid EICR carried out by a competent person.

EICR = Electrical installation condition report.

The new changes coming into force mean that an EICR should be in place for any new tenancy, and any existing tenancies should have an EICR carried out within 12 months.

Better late than never I suppose 😬.

Did you know?

Northern Ireland (for now) is the last part of the UK where this is still only a recommendation.

In all other areas it is MANDATORY (Law).

Hopefully will follow suit, but we would assume so at some stage. Only way to ensure electrical safety.
