Whilst the principle ranges of products are for the popular CNC sliding head automatic lathes, this has been enhanced to include milling tools,

spindle tooling and driven tools for fixed head lathes, VMC’s, multi-spindle machines, CNC tool grinding machines and rotary machines. This is supported by the technical expertise based on many years of experience and product development with machine suppliers and tooling manufacturers. Despite the economic roller-coaster we all have to ride, we have stood by our philosophy of investment in good stock, efficient systems, and most of all people.

After 35 years at the helm, Richard Floyd decided it was time to retire. Floyd Automatic Tooling was purchased by Helix Tool Company Ltd. on January 6th, 2025. The UK cutting tool distributor is on a growth trajectory to consolidate the tooling distribution market and the niche products and target segments that Floyd Automatic is renowned for, creating an exciting opportunity for Helix Tool.

As part of a larger group of companies, Floyd Automatic will now have the opportunity to expand its market pe*******on – and the acquisition will certainly reap rewards for Floyd and Helix customers alike with expanded product lines, technical expertise and service support.
