R & D Marine was founded in 1973 after several years of development to manufacture a flexible shaft coupling suitable for marine use, which was both easy to fit and competitively priced. The company was started in a single garage moving to two garages after one year and then to its current location in 1976. Over the years, the factory has been completely rebuilt and now has 10,000 square feet of m

odern factory space with all manufacturing being carried out on modern CNC machines. As R & D Flexible Couplings became more of a standard fitting on a wide range of work and pleasure boats we were asked to offer other marine products. Damper Drive Plates and Anti-Vibration Engine Mountings were later added to the range of products. By 1976 the basis of the product range had been established. Since then it has grown to the comprehensive range we have today of Couplings, Mountings, Damper Drive Plates and Half Couplings for engines from 5 to 1500 H.P. All products are designed to be fail safe, easy to install and readily available through our extensive range of UK and overseas distributors. Most parts are produced in house which allows us to offer quick delivery on urgent orders or breakdowns. R & D Marine's ability to respond quickly to customers requirements coupled with the extensive product range has created the worldwide distribution network it has today.
