We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer / Tarmacer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be confident in both black and white work and hold a Class 2 (HGV) licence.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out tarmacing and surfacing works to a high standard
Perform both black (tarmac) and white (concrete/kerb) work
Operate plant and machinery safely and efficiently
Drive and operate Class 2 vehicles for site work and material transport
Follow all health and safety procedures
Requirements:
✅ Proven experience in tarmacing and civil works
✅ Ability to carry out both black and white work
✅ Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
✅ CSCS card
✅ Streetworks
Overtime and weekend work available

Vacancies for 2 man drainage gangs.
Kent and Hampshire locations.
Driving licence (at least one per gang)
Proven drainage experience and knowledge.
Valid CSCS card and Streetworks.
Machine operator tickets are an advantage but not essential.
Some white work which includes but is not limited to:
Slabbing
Block paving
Tarmacing
Brickwork

💜 Charity Raffle Update – We’re Nearly at £3,000! 💜

We are absolutely blown away by the support we’ve received so far. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing friends, colleagues, local businesses and community, we’ve now raised over £2,500 for Young Lives vs Cancer... and we’re getting close to £3,000!

We also received this lovely message from Hollie Trezise, the Fundraising Engagement Manager for the South Coast:

“£2,500 is an incredible amount of money to have raised and would pay for 96 hours of support from a social worker, as well as helping many families with travel costs to make sure they can get to their child’s appointments.

Last year we supported 185 families in Kent, and thanks to people like you, we can continue being there when families receive the devastating news that their child has cancer."

Knowing exactly how much this support helps families makes this fundraiser even more meaningful.

Great to have KCC Leader, Linden Kemkaren, join us on site yesterday as we completed the 23,000th pothole repair since May. She even got hands on and helped our team! Proud of the hard work our crews are delivering across Kent. Thanks to Kent County Council for the feature.

💛 Charity Raffle for Young Lives vs Cancer 💛

At G & J Steele, our director Leanne and her family have recently been through an incredibly tough time. Leanne’s son, Tom, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer affecting young people. Throughout this journey, Young Lives vs Cancer has provided amazing support, and we want to give something back.

We’re hosting a charity raffle at G & J Steele in Aylesford to raise funds for this incredible charity. We’d love to hear from local businesses who might like to donate a prize, and from anyone who wants to buy raffle tickets to support the cause.
