Busy week for our engineer Richard, who has been hard at work on our Prinoth GT2000 tracked Hiab in preparation for an upcoming Hydro project. The machine will play a key role in lifting materials and equipment onto site, so making sure it’s fully prepared and reliable is essential.
With no clear history on when the hydraulic travel motor hoses and auxiliary lines were last replaced and knowing how difficult they are to inspect with the body fitted, we brought in the lifting team from Johnston Rigging Fife Ltd and their new Volvo Hiab to remove the body and Hiab chassis from the main chassis. This gave us the perfect opportunity to thoroughly inspect the chassis, fuel tank, and wiring while access was available.
A big thank you to christopher horsburgh from HYDRAQUIP HOSE & HYDRAULICS for replacing all hydraulic hoses to give us peace of mind. His attention to detail is second to none, and no job is ever too much trouble.
Next week, the body will be refitted, along with a new hydraulic leg monitoring system. Once complete, the crane will undergo load testing and LOLER inspection, ready to return to work.
We take real pride in maintaining our hire fleet to the highest standard. Minimising downtime on site is a priority, especially when it comes to preventing issues like hydraulic hose failures on specialist machines like this.
If you have an upcoming project that requires specialist off road lifting requirements then please drop me a message for more details.
We have another Yanmar C30R tracked Hiab in build just now, fitted with Penny Hydraulics PH330 Hiab.
