Mirror Moon: How Stainless Steel Helped Recreate the Lunar Surface. From June 2026 visitors to Royal Observatory Greenwich will be able to experience something completely new, and reflective!. A new installation, called Mirror Moon, by British artist Luke Jerram, is going on display beside the famous Prime Meridian in Greenwich. The sculpture is a two metre wide replica of the lunar surface, produced using mirrored stainless steel and detailed NASA topographical data to reproduce the Moon’s craters.
