Sorry for anyone that’s tried to get hold of me this week. There’s been a few big jobs that I needed to get done, which has meant long days with my head down.

But they are done and gone. Phew 😮‍💨

These doors were installed at a local manufacturing plant to replace the worn out ones that were there previously. Design, fab and install all carried out.

Each one is 2740 x1320mm out of 50mm box and clad in 1.5mm Galv both sides, they aren’t light. But they open with the slightest of effort, which just shows a good install 😃

With reaching the ripe old age of 40 last year, I started to think a little more about how I could give back to community.

So I started to volunteer at the absolutely wonderful Wigan Youth Zone, you will mostly find me helping kids with skateboarding and skating, as it’s something I’ve done collectively for 3 decades.

But the other way we are helping them is by supporting them in their facilities. A note was raised about the girls toilet door needing fixing while I was there one Monday night. Measures up the next day, installed and finished the following Monday.

Seeing how some others have done work on it, we obviously applied our usual ACE approach to work. Two lovely pieces of stainless, all holes equal. But the little details are what makes things stand apart. Those little cup washers and stainless screws make a style detail out of what most pass off as a trivial fixing concern.

If you have kids and are stuck for things to do, then please look up Wigan Youth Zone it’s a brilliant and cheap place for kids to learn so much!!!!!

Is this your horse?

It was dropped off the other week while I was off with a broken foot. Sadly the contact number has been misplaced by someone and I’ve not heard anything from whoever it is.

Luckily it’s been very well behaved, no p**p to clean up and it’s not eaten very much either.

Could do with discussing with the owner what needs doing to it so we can get it done.

I believe it’s a prop from a photo shoot studio

If anyone can help put us in touch with the owner it would be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone

Unfortunately the workshop is shut for the next week.

The main man is recovering from a stress fracture in his right foot and is having to rest up to get him back to fighting strength.

Please message with any questions or queries through here and he will get back to you.

A little something we did for a friend of ACE last week.

This old boot stand has had a hard life, an upright had cracked and fell off and another was missing all together.

Normally we would have TIG brazed this, but a friend put us onto using 309 wire. Our first time using it and to say we were impressed by how it worked is an understatement.

We located the one that was broken off easy enough, then made up another upright matching it in to the original as best we could using a piece of steel cut to shape.

One very happy friend as a result.
