Lessons are offered in person at Elwick Rd, Ashford, or online
Contact now for your first FREE lesson! Hi, I’m James and welcome to JWT Guitar School
If you’re reading this, hopefully you’re ready to start or progress further on your guitar learning journey, and I would love to help you on your way. Whether you want to be able to play awesome guitar solos, write beautiful songs, understand music
theory or even just strum a few chords at home, I can help you! All of our lessons are 100% tailored to your own personal goals, and we don’t believe in a one size fits all learning programme. With years of experience teaching guitar for all levels, we also prepare students for graded exams, teaching both RGT and Rockschool courses up to grade 8, be it acoustic, electric or classical with a 100% pass rate, 90% of which achieving distinction. Our lessons are offered in person at my studio located at Elwick Road, Ashford. Though if you'd rather learn in the comfort of your own home, lessons are also offered online via Zoom. All online lessons are carried out using professional studio equipment, so you can see and hear everything you need for a great lesson. Also, we have an Enhanced DBS check, for your peace of mind. Our lessons are very competitively priced, with your first lesson being completely FREE! After that, a 30 minute lesson costs just £17. If you are looking for a cheaper option, then group lessons are offered at £11 per person (minimum two people/maximum three people per group lesson). Free lessons aren't only offered to new students - if you're a current student and you refer a friend who signs up for lessons, you will receive one FREE 30 minute lesson! (And the best part is, there's no cap on how many free lessons you can get, all you have to do is refer your friends!)
Student testimonials:
“After years of tinkering at home on my guitar I finally got around to having lessons. The difference lessons with James has made in both my technique and knowledge in a really short space of time has been huge. He has a gift for teaching based on individual need and tailors the lessons to suit personal musical taste. I would highly recommend James for both beginners and anyone wishing to hone their skills.”
- Michael, lessons for over three and a half years
"My son was only 8 when he started guitar lessons with James. Despite his young age James was always very patient with him and always got the best out of him. His enthusiasm and knowledge of music makes the lessons very enjoyable."
- Stephen, teaching son for over three years
"James is a fantastic guitar teacher, and crucially, is a really decent bloke who is easy to learn from and spend time with. He wears his deep knowledge of music lightly. He teaches you the songs that you want to learn, simply and quickly, so you enjoy it. Then he layers over the theory underpinning the song. Then he adds in technique so you become a better player. James not only teaches me, but also patiently teaches my two children as well, who both love his lessons. He is also has a huge knowledge of guitars and equipment and is really patient at explaining what to buy and how to get the most from it, untangling technical issues, all of which is vital as a beginner. I started a year ago with James with no guitar and no knowledge of how to play music. With James help, we now play together as a family band, in our home studio that James has helped me understand how to create, and whilst we won't be troubling the charts for a while, we can pass off a range of songs together. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend James for guitar lessons, for people of any age."
