The Konecranes S‑series hoist features an innovative synthetic rope, developed as an alternative to traditional steel wire rope for modern crane applications. It delivers the required strength for industrial lifting while being lighter, cleaner to handle, and resistant to common rope related issues.
Synthetic rope does not require lubrication and avoids kinking and bird‑caging, helping reduce wear on lifting components and support improved handling. After extensive testing, it has become the standard option for the Konecranes S‑series, with a steel rope option available when required by the application and capacity.

What do Maya architecture and crane runways have in common?

Hint: it involves lasers.

A laser beam can reveal what the human eye cannot, even in industrial environments. Laser mapping technology called lidar recently helped archaeologists discover tens of thousands of hidden Maya structures beneath the jungle treetops. At Konecranes, we use the same technology to inspect crane runways.
This is called the RailQ 3D Runway Survey. And it has been designed to deliver accurate information on the alignment of your crane runway, and provide expert recommendations for corrective actions. So how is it done, and what are all the things we can improve with RailQ 3D Runway Survey?

When space is limited, smart material flow matters even more. At Cummins Germany, expanding operations meant reorganising material flow in a space with structural limitations. A customised, freestanding Konecranes KBK workstation lifting system now supports safe, precise handling of heavy engine components — across the full operating area.
