Thatch is a build up of organic material such as leaves, grass clippings and light debris that builds up to create a thick layer. This thick layer prevents water, nutrients and oxygen reaching the grass roots. We have a range of scarifiers available to combat this at www.sisis.com

Announcement #1

This great big orange beauty was delivered today, not Terry, not the tractor, the Sisis quadraplay on the back. Two weeks ago, we received confirmation from Mid Devon District Council that we'd succesfully bid for £21,500 of funding from the UKSPF fund.

The money will be used to increase youth participation at the club in a number of ways.

The quadraplay will help us reduce the number of games that are postponed due to water logging. We've had to postpone over forty games this winter and we're going to everything we can to reduce that number next season.

Over £8,000 will be used to create two additional pitches at the far end of our property which is currently unused wasteland. It is hoped that we can increase the number of teams that we have from 20 to 24 for the start of next season.

The remaining funds will be used once the pitches have been completed to purchase state of the art Forza goals.

With the introduction of 3v3 football at u7's next season this is an exciting time for everyone involved.

We'll also be installing two CCTV cameras that will ensure that our new toys remain protected.

Announcement #2 to follow in a couple of weeks.

Precision sorrel rolling for healthier turf and professional playing surfaces 🌱⚽⛳
The SISIS Rolaspike creates thousands of small aeration holes to improve the movement of air, water and nutrients into the rootzone. The result? Stronger turf, better drainage and surfaces that perform at their best all season long.
Ideal for golf courses, sports pitches and amenity turf, with minimal disruption to play.

''The main reason we chose this machine is that you can interchange the tines. Different tines do different jobs. At the moment we've got fine tines installed, mainly for use during the playing season. The fine tines allow us to aerate the green with minimal surface disruption, so once it's been spiked, play can continue almost immediately afterwards.
It's very easy to change the tines. We have several different tines available, and it takes only 15–20 minutes to change the whole set. It's simply a case of undoing the retaining nut, removing the tine, inserting the replacement and tightening it back up.
The ability to use different tines gives us the flexibility to match the aeration work to the conditions and the time of year, helping us promote healthy root growth, improve water pe*******on and drainage, and maintain a high-quality playing surface throughout the season." (Blaby Bowls Club)
