Job in Steyning, West Sussex.
Client finished building his swimming pool…
Then realised the space above it was too good to waste.
So he bought steels to create something amazing —
but quickly found out it wasn’t as simple as dropping them in.
He needed:
✔️ Structural design approval
✔️ Calculations confirming the beams wouldn’t overload the structure
✔️ A written safe-installation plan
✔️ A team who could actually make it happen
That’s when Love Metal Fabrication stepped in.
Real steel. Real challenges. Real solutions.
Attempt #1 — The plan that couldn’t happen
We arrived ready for the install, but access was impossible.
No scaffold ramp.
No safe route.
The spider crane couldn’t get into the garden.
We tried — but the laws of physics won this round.
Instead of forcing it, we stopped.
Safety first, always.
The Plan B Meeting
We regrouped with the client.
Walked the site.
Looked at every angle, every constraint.
Together, we agreed on a new solution:
Remove one of the large windows
Bring in the telehandler/forklift
Reposition for a safe crane lift
Sometimes the best plan is the one you build on the second try.
Attempt #2 — The REAL job begins
Slow, steady, two hours of precise manoeuvring…
And finally — we got the spider crane in.
Now the heat kicked in.
The pressure kicked in.
These beams were no joke.
If you’ve never worked with steel like this, it feels like:
“One wrong move and it’s over.”
That’s the truth of heavy steel installation.
It demands focus.
Skill.
Respect for the weight you’re lifting.
And absolute trust in your team.
And once again… teamwork won.
Clear communication.
Calm minds.
No shortcuts.
Every lift controlled.
Every move planned.
The beams went in safely.
The client got the result they hoped for.
And the job that started with obstacles ended as a win.
