Headed down Rands Lane for a quick pick. It seems like more had been added to the the flytip pile. Polystyrene, plastic, bottles, cans, household food waste, you name it. It was blowing down the road and there were lots of visitors to the cemetery on this lovely Sunday morning who do not want to see this or have it blowing in to there either.
The small bits are bagged up and the bulky stuff has been left ready for Street Scene to collect on their van.
Much better.

⚠️Please please please, if you are paying someone to dispose of your waste, ensure they have a licence, that they show you the licence and you obtain a receipt from the reputable business. DO NOT pay someone off Facebook to do it cheap as a hefty fine may be winging it's way to you.

I have had a number of messages and emails regarding the flytipping on Rands Lane and I'd like to let all concerned about it know that it is now with the Councils enforcement team.
Fly tipping seems to have increased lately in and around the Village and while I and the team do tackle them we tend to pick up the more litter type ones. Anything that can't fit into red bags are left to the Council teams to safely remove.
Please do though continue to report either to me at the Bitter About Litter Project at [email protected], through messenger here or through the Doncaster Councils own website.

Picking up at the park.
Full bag of litter collected in and around the edge of the park.
The park itself has a number of bins dotted around, please ensure when you've finished with your drink or sugary snack that the rubbish is disposed of responsibly!

Earlier in the week one of the projects volunteers picked up bottles, cans and all sorts dropped by the villages .
If you notice, these heavy bags full to the brim that are collected daily around the village are often left beside a bin awaiting collection from Street Scene. I don't know about you but if we can carry a bag filled with hundreds of bottles to a bin, I'm sure someone with a single empty bottle can keep a hold of it until there's a bin.
Thought of the day.

Suns out which means the are also out.
One of the projects fantastic volunteers did a spot of litterpicking around Cowhouse Lane and green and picked up a heap and a half of litter!
On the green there is a bin, at the top of Cowhouse Lane and at the opposite end there are multiple at the park too. Please use the bins for your litter, our green spaces and streets are not a trash receptacle.

Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK) are small acts of kindness that can make a big difference.
Today whilst Trash Stomping around the Village I was gifted a refreshing can of ginger ale, another person offered to pop in the shop for a cold drink for me. Whilst making my way down Beech Rd with the Trash Trolly 2 boys came running up with cans and plastic bottles they found on one of the greens to do their bit with a smile. And last but not least a very kind young man tracked me down at home to hand deliver my inhaler perscription he found that I had dropped whilst litter picking near the leisure centre.
Thank you to everyone today who did these lovely acts of kindness along with the many who stopped to give words of encouragement to keep going and thanks.
is a great Village!

Briar Field ticked off on this week's to do list.
Is there a Grot Spot in the village you know that could do with a litter pick? Drop a comment or PM, let's see what we can do!
