When Prodrive developed the FIA-homologated right-hand-drive Subaru Impreza World Rally Car for the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, a completely new steering mechanism was engineered to retain the standard left-hand-drive steering rack while providing identical steering feel.

This unique system utilised high-angularity constant velocity joints and underwent extensive durability testing by Prodrive before entering competition.
