Monday already… and the weekend went far too quickly.

But the sun is shining here today don’t you think the weather has a huge impact on your mindset? I woke up this morning feeling more positive than I have in a long time.

Over the weekend, I was at a local pub and was sad to hear they’ll be closing a week on Sunday. Rising costs and high rates have taken another toll on hospitality and our local community. Speaking with the manager was tough—you could feel how much it meant to her.

It really brought things into perspective. So many businesses are facing similar challenges right now. We’re all navigating the same storm.

I could have dwelled on it but instead, it’s made me feel stronger, more focused, and more determined. It’s pushed me to think about what more I can do for both new and existing clients, especially when it comes to supporting their supply chains.

This week, I’m focusing on:
• Reaching out to clients regular and new to see how we can support them
• Reviewing our policies and procedures to simplify things for both our team and our customers
• Working on new quotes for supply and manufacturing requests
• And most importantly, reminding myself how fortunate we are to still be here

That’s down to the trust of our clients, and the hard work and determination of myself, Iain, and our incredible team.

We’re pleased to have completed and delivered a further batch of silicone bronze nuts and bolts, demonstrating our capability in repeat precision manufacturing.

This second batch has been produced for the RRS Discovery in Dundee, supporting works carried out for Dundee Industrial Heritage as part of the Dundee Heritage Trust, with lottery-funded backing.

The components shown have been manufactured to secure deck lights and vents, offering the durability, accuracy, and finish required for a historic marine environment.

Our focus remains on delivering consistent quality across every batch, ensuring all components meet specification and perform reliably in service.

100,000 units. One pallet. One solution.

This recent order highlights a growing shift in how customers are approaching supply.

The requirement was for a specific non-standard size of grub screw, not available off the shelf. The customer also needed a defined quantity.

By working closely together, we were able to deliver a solution that met both the technical requirement and commercial objective.

This is now the second batch manufactured for this customer this year, with further volumes expected as projections develop.

Across the board, we’re seeing increased demand for larger production runs and forward planning ,helping businesses achieve greater cost efficiencies over time. Minimum order quantities can vary depending on product size and requirements, but we work closely with our customers to ensure the most effective and economical approach.

Some buyers, in their quest to save a few quid, scour the internet for the lowest prices, thinking they're making the right choice. But what happens when there's an issue with the order and it doesn't arrive on time? You call, no answer. You email, no reply. What now? You're left hoping for a response, all because you took a gamble on the cheapest option.

Now, imagine a different scenario. You pick up the phone, speak to a few suppliers, and assess what they offer. You make an informed decision and choose Bolt Base as your go-to supplier. 😁 That Iain guy seems pretty decent, 😇 so you decide to place your order with him.

🌟 Customer Success Story: Quick Thinking and Fast Solutions! 🌟

Last week, I received a call from a customer I hadn't spoken to in a while. He urgently needed 200 black high-tensile M8 x 50 socket button heads. No problem, I thought and started processing his order.

After payment, he mentioned he needed them in black zinc. Oops! 🤔 A lesson learned for both of us—always clarify specifications upfront!

Although we stock a few ranges in black zinc, button heads aren't one of them. Thankfully, we have reliable plating partners. I reached out to one, and luck was on our side—they had a big cancellation and could accommodate our order immediately.

In just 3 days, the plating was done and shipped back to us, beating the usual week-long lead time. We delivered the order within a week, and the customer was thrilled!

He mentioned needing these regularly, with a little prep and knowledge of lead times future orders will be placed in advance and delivered ready for production.
