We had an incredible day at last Friday for the 'Race to the Line' STEM Challenge 2026. It was our pleasure as sponsors to see the enthusiasm, creativity and engagement from all the students taking part in the challenge. The year 7’s are a fantastic year group, and we are keeping our fingers crossed here in CALGAVIN for the top three race cars going to Regionals in a few weeks’ time 🏅

Joined by our placement students from University of Birmingham, Joshua Lloyd and Hamaad Sarwar were there to support the year 7’s with technical questions, and it was wonderful to see all the teams showcasing their knowledge of aerodynamics and the thought-process that went into their race cars. Alongside some fantastic designing, we saw some brilliant speeds achieved, so the competition was very close!

A massive thank you to all the staff involved at Alcester Academy for having us, and for letting us witness and support the next generation of scientists and engineers through hands-on-learning, and to enjoy the race in the beautiful sunshine! ☀️

CALGAVIN are very proud to have installed a West Midlands Ambulance Service defibrillator at the entrance to our premises as part of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our team, visitors, and the wider community.

Having immediate access to life-saving equipment can make a critical difference in an emergency. This installation, alongside training for staff and community members, ensure that we are better prepared and equipped to respond when it matters most!

The defibrillator is connected through ‘The Circuit’, a national defibrillator network across the UK which helps assist emergency services in locating cardiac events as quickly and accurately as possible.
