CALGAVIN Ltd

CALGAVIN Ltd GLOBAL CONSULTING ENGINEERS FOR HEAT TRANSFER SOLUTIONS. Over 30 years we have built an unrivalled expertise in the thermal analysis of process plants.

Our engineering teams have extensive knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow combined with the experience of providing solutions to hundreds of plants worldwide. A vital aspect of energy saving and cost reduction on projects is to maximise the performance of heat exchangers. If heat exchangers are performing at maximum capacity this can provide numerous benefits, for example;

*

Avoiding excessive fuel and utility usage to meet required duties.
* Higher quality product output.
* Saving requirements for further heat exchangers to be installed, reducing costs such as piping, support structures, installation, metalwork, etc.
* Enhanced initial cooling removes the need for secondary cooling in storage, and the same can be applied for heating.
* Higher product retention, reducing the required throughput/pumping power.

CALGAVIN are very proud to have installed a West Midlands Ambulance Service defibrillator at the entrance to our premises as part of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our team, visitors, and the wider community.

Having immediate access to life-saving equipment can make a critical difference in an emergency. This installation, alongside training for staff and community members, ensure that we are better prepared and equipped to respond when it matters most!

The defibrillator is connected through ‘The Circuit’, a national defibrillator network across the UK which helps assist emergency services in locating cardiac events as quickly and accurately as possible.

Here at CALGAVIN Ltd, we are incredibly proud to share the fantastic charity fundraising that one of our factory operatives, Derek and his son Oliver, did in previous weeks. They both abseiled down the side of the Mailbox for Birmingham Children's Hospital and Charity and contributed to helping raise over £38,000 for the charity’s continued work, over one day!

These donations ensure that spaces, equipment and treatments are on the forefront of the cutting-edge work that Birmingham Children's Hospital does. Their work is close to Derek and his family’s hearts and the money raised will support so many children and life-saving research going forward.

Congratulations to Derek and Oliver, and the immense bravery you both showed.

At CALGAVIN, innovation doesn’t just happen in the lab, it grows through collaboration, curiosity, and sharing knowledge across generations.

This week’s R&D meeting was a great example of that. Alongside our research and development team, which includes placement students from the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham , we were joined by a Year 10 student, on work experience from hashtag . Seeing students engage with real-world engineering challenges and contribute to technical discussions is always inspiring.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to open the door for the next generation of engineers and scientists. By sharing knowledge, encouraging questions, and giving students a glimpse into industry, we help spark the curiosity that drives future innovation.

Supporting and inspiring future engineers has been part of CALGAVIN’s ethos for over 45 years, and it’s something we remain deeply committed to.
