We’re delighted to celebrate the incredible achievement of George McIvor, Chairman of the Master Chefs of Great Britain, who has been appointed an OBE in the King’s New Year Honours List 2025!

This prestigious recognition highlights George’s outstanding contributions to the catering and tourism industries, as well as his unwavering commitment to charitable fundraising—something we at Instock are incredibly proud to support.

Since 2006, George has led the Master Chefs of Great Britain to remarkable heights, expanding training masterclasses to benefit over 1,000 apprentice and student chefs every year. His dedication to nurturing young talent, alongside his tireless work with charities such as Leukaemia UK and the Teenage Cancer Trust, has left an indelible mark on our industry and community.

In George’s own words: "I am deeply humbled to be recognised in the King’s New Year Honours List. I strongly believe in encouraging young people and children to participate in and enjoy food. Their natural inquisitiveness and eagerness to learn is something to be encouraged. I am very grateful to my fellow chefs and supporters who enable our work.”
