🎂 Today, on my birthday, I’d like to share a moment of reflection.

I’m often asked, “So, what do you do?”
After much consideration I think I finally have a simple answer:

“I transform complexity into elegance — and build systems that stand the test of time.”

As an integrator, I’ve learned that true intelligence in a building isn’t about technology alone — it’s about how everything communicates and works together.
From building automation and energy metering to comfort, lighting, and security, my work sits at the intersection of engineering precision and human experience.

Each project is a conversation between disciplines — architecture, HVAC, lighting design, IT, and the client’s own vision. My role is to bring those worlds into harmony: translating complexity into systems that feel seamless, intuitive, and built to last.

Over time, I’ve realised my real strengths lie in:
• Listening to clients, engineers, and designers.
• Anticipating how people live and interact with technology.
• Designing for longevity, sustainability, and everyday comfort.

The most satisfying part is watching a building come alive — when technology fades quietly into the background, and what remains is ease, elegance, and intelligence in motion.

Because in the end, integration isn’t just about connecting systems.
It’s about connecting people, purpose, and performance.

Today we combined work and pleasure with a trip to Boston Design Centre. Inspirational lighting and a visit to Boston’s System 7 Technology Designers Experience centre where we saw some excellent shading options we will offer to our clients. I couldn’t resist sharing the last photo which was taken from a furniture showroom shows why we should always use a KNX lighting control system in an environment with many lighting circuits…

As KNX smart home integrators in the South of France we regularly equip our clients holiday homes with KNX control of heating, cooling, solar shading, security, presence detection, lighting, garden & lighting, pool control (checking ph and orp controlling pump and heating) and energy monitoring (linking solar production to hot water etc is becoming popular). Indeed our own home 18 is our KNX show home with integration of all of the above and is used for clients and architects to experience a KNX home in the South of France.
