Today we celebrate the force that is Suzie Jackson.

The woman brave enough to leave Australia, take an enormous leap of faith, buy a château on the other side of the world and slowly bring it back to life over the past 11 years.

Through endless renovations, challenges, muddy boots, collapsing walls, beautiful gardens, unforgettable dinners and thousands of guests welcomed through these doors… she has remained steady, calm and endlessly pragmatic.

Suzie has this incredible ability to face problems without panic, to keep creating no matter what, and somehow still cook the most delicious meals in the middle of complete chaos.

She is strong, inspiring, generous, creative and truly unstoppable.

We are all very lucky to experience the world she has created here at Château de la Carrière.

Happy Birthday Suzie ❤️

Love,
Sophie x

There’s something about this time of year… everything starts moving again 🌿

A week in pictures —
the food, the tables, the garden,
the workshops, the sunshine,
and little excursions in between.

We’re fully back in the rhythm of the château,
days that flow from the potager to the table,
from meeting strangers… to sharing something that feels a bit special.

Feeling very lucky to be here,
and even more grateful for the wonderful humans who pass through and become part of it all ✨

What would be your favourite part of a week like this?

There’s something slightly wild happening in the garden this week… 🌿

The unusually warm weather has pressed fast-forward on everything. Buds we were waiting for quietly… are suddenly everywhere. Flower beds are filling up overnight, colours popping in layers, and the whole garden feels a little more alive each morning than the last.

It’s that fleeting moment where everything is just about to peak — and we’re trying to take it all in before it races ahead again.

If you were walking through the garden today… what would you stop for first? 🌸

So lovely to be featured in HighLife Magazine this month ✨

Last year, Catherine O’Neil spent time at the château creating a beautiful cartography of the estate — capturing its gardens, paths, and quiet corners with such sensitivity and detail.

The full story is now in print, and we couldn’t be more grateful to see this chapter shared beyond our walls. A little piece of the château, mapped and told.

Find it in store this month 🤍

Some evenings feel like a quiet ritual.

A table set, and Suzie sharing what’s coming from the kitchen tonight…
seasonal, simple, straight from the potager.

In between stitches and stories, there’s Fizzy making his little round of hellos,
and that soft château rhythm settling in for the night.

It’s never just dinner… it’s a moment we all share.
