🌱 Soil tests in comparison
We are on board with our Novag T-Force Plus 150😎
At the University of Applied Sciences Nürtingen-Geislingen, we helped set up a trial. Wheat was drilled into a very tall and dense cover crop using our Novag T-Force Plus 150.
This trial compares two soil analysis methods: the traditional LUFA test and the Albrecht/Kinsey soil analysis. The LUFA soil test focuses on measuring available nutrients at the moment of sampling. It provides a snapshot of current fertility levels and is commonly used for fertilizer recommendations.
The Albrecht/Kinsey analysis, however, looks at the balance of cations (Ca, Mg, K, Na, H) on the soil’s exchange sites. Its goal is to improve soil structure, aeration, and biological activity by optimizing nutrient ratios rather than simply adding more nutrients.
A fascinating look at how management decisions influence both chemistry and biology in Conservation Agriculture.
