Two CATD Nadave representatives, Netava Davis, Head of Automotive Engineering, and teaching assistant Filimoni Delasau, attended a capacity-building programme on Sustainable Power Energy Systems Management and Development in Daejeon, South Korea, from 11–24 October 2026.

Fully funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the training at K-water Academy provided exposure to renewable energy, sustainable power systems and emerging technologies.

As CATD moves towards Green Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Green TVET), the knowledge gained will help explore innovations in solar energy, electric vehicles, solar-powered boats and other clean-energy solutions.

The focus now is on bringing that knowledge home to strengthen technical training and develop practical solutions for Fiji's communities.

From a small island in Fiji to one of the world's leading automotive companies in Japan!

Ilisoni Kunagasu of Vatulele, Nadroga, is making his mark internationally after securing a three-year employment contract with Nissan in Japan, through the Bula Japan Project.

Ilisoni is now the third CATD Nadave automotive engineering graduate to secure employment with global automotive giants Toyota and Nissan in Japan, another milestone that speaks to the quality of technical and vocational training at CATD Nadave.

His journey is a powerful reminder that skills learned at home can open doors to opportunities across the world.

For CATD Nadave, these achievements reflect the value of investing in practical skills, developing young people's potential and creating pathways to meaningful employment, both locally and internationally.

Who can apply?
✅ Aged 18 to 35 years
✅ Have served 2 years or more doing community work (with evidence)
✅ Have sat for the Fiji Junior Certificate Examination, or passed or attempted Year 10 (with evidence)
✅ Have no criminal record

What you need to submit:
📄 Completed application form (endorsed by your Father/Guardian, Turaga ni Koro and Roko Tui)
📄 Copy of Birth Certificate and Joint Card
📄 School report or exam certificate (with FEMIS number)
📄 6 current passport photos
📄 2 payslips, or 2 statutory declarations if your parent/guardian is unemployed
📄 Mpaisa, MyCash or bank statement
