How can we electrify industry while protecting biodiversity? 🌍

That was one of the questions discussed at COP17 in Yerevan, where Crimppi’s CEO Timo Harri joined a panel hosted by the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) at the Nordic Pavilion.

The discussion explored how industrial electrification can be advanced while minimising its impact on nature, improving resource efficiency and supporting sustainable growth.

“Electrification is a huge opportunity for Crimppi, with our wire harnesses helping make it possible. But with that opportunity comes a responsibility just as big: to make these solutions increasingly sustainable, starting with our own operations and extending across the value chain,” says Timo.

As COP17 brings together governments, businesses and other stakeholders to advance global biodiversity goals, discussions like these highlight how important business collaboration is in turning ambitions into action.

From global commitments to real progress. 🌍

The United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP17) kicks off this week in Yerevan, Armenia, and Crimppi will be joining the discussions as part of Finland’s delegation.

For the first time since the adoption of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework in 2022, countries will jointly assess progress towards its 23 targets. How far have we come, and what still needs to be done to halt biodiversity loss by 2030?

The symbol of this year's conference is the Yerevan Blue Butterfly, a species found only in Armenia. A reminder that biodiversity is local before it becomes global. 🦋

Crimppi has been selected to join Finland’s delegation to the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17)! 🌍

From 19 to 30 October, representatives from around the world will gather in Yerevan, Armenia, to discuss how to accelerate global action to protect biodiversity.

One of the topics on the agenda is strengthening the role of the private sector in achieving global biodiversity goals. Having businesses involved in these discussions is therefore an important part of COP17.

We’re proud to be part of Finland’s 50-member delegation, led by the Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala, and mobilized by UN Global Compact Network Finland.
