Lower-carbon construction starts with the choices we make today. 🌱

At Ruukki, we're working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our own operations and across our value chain.

Our climate goals are clear.

By 2035:
↘ 85% reduction in emissions from our own operations
↘ 40% reduction in emissions from our value chain

And we're making progress. By the end of 2025, we had already reduced emissions from our own operations by 76% compared with 2019.

By 2045:
Net-zero, with a 90% reduction across all scopes

All targets are measured against 2019 levels.

Reaching these goals means choosing lower-carbon materials, improving energy efficiency in manufacturing and developing durable, recyclable steel-based building products.

It's about making better choices today – for the buildings of tomorrow.

Ask someone what makes a data center resilient, and they’ll probably mention power, cooling and connectivity.

The roof and walls might not be their first answer. In our work, they’re among the first things we consider.

The building envelope is critical – the decisions influence fire performance, insurance requirements, noise control, embodied carbon and construction schedules. Its design also shapes how the building fits into the surrounding community.

For developers, project decision-makers and design teams, these decisions deserve attention early, when there’s still room to consider how different requirements work together.

That’s where Ruukki’s expertise comes in. We support data center projects with sandwich panels, metal sheet decking, and tailored façades, helping project teams find suitable solutions from design to construction.

Strong lines and beautiful details.🏡 This private home in Chisinau, Moldova, pairs bright façades and generous glazing with a Ruukki Classic® roof in matte black. Its standing seam lines emphasize the roof’s shape, creating a distinctive silhouette and a striking contrast with the lighter surfaces.

A hidden Siba rainwater system keeps the architectural lines clean while directing rainwater away from the walls and foundation.

Take a closer look at how the details come together. ▶️

A familiar place to shop, with a local touch. 🏙️

In Tartu, Estonia, this new Lidl store takes design cues from the timber architecture of the surrounding Karlova district.🏡

The façade’s forms and colors help connect the store with its neighbourhood. Ruukki’s sandwich panels with mineral wool form part of the exterior walls, while lamellas bent into a rectangular profile add definition to the façade. The choice of forms and colors connects the building with its green surroundings, alongside extensive glazing that opens the store towards the street.

Even the layout makes the most of the compact site, with parking placed beneath the shopping floor.

An everyday destination, thoughtfully designed to fit its surroundings.

Designed for efficiency, durability, and year-round usability, the freshly built facility hosts EWA’s administrative offices, a customer service center, and a machinery maintenance hub.

For this project, Ruukki supplied SP2E E-PIR, nSPB WE, and nSPB W sandwich panels – along with the elegant Design Venice™ S10 façade cladding profiles. 🏗️

The vertically corrugated façade panels add a striking sense of height, beautifully complementing the horizontal lines of the dark sandwich panels.
