Our people bring passion, commitment and energy to everything they do, both professionally and beyond. 🧡
One of them is Lucie Fournier, Contract Manager for Energy Field Services in France and a dedicated trail runner whose inspiring journey has taken her from the 2024 Trail des Mélèzes to the international stage at the XTERRA World Championships.
After qualifying for the 2025 XTERRA World Championships, Lucie spent months preparing for the challenge, logging more than 1,000 km of training. She went on to compete in Wales, where she finished as the top French woman and placed 4th overall in the women’s rankings. 👏
In 2026, Lucie continued her adventure in Gozo, Malta, competing against runners from 30 countries at the XTERRA World Championships. On a demanding 51 km course, she once again showed remarkable determination and resilience, securing 6th place overall and the title of top French woman.
While these achievements are impressive, what stands out most is Lucie's perseverance, healthy living and the courage to keep going. Supported by colleagues and the wider Wärtsilä community, she continues to represent Wärtsilä with pride on the global stage.
With a 75 km trail run still ahead this year and the legendary Marathon des Sables on her horizon, we look forward to following her next challenges and accomplishments.
Congratulations, Lucie, and thank you for inspiring us with your dedication and determination. 💪
