It all started during a maintenance shutdown at a paper mill in Sydney, Australia.. 👀

While working as an apprentice fitter and machinist, Jack Woodall got the chance to work alongside Valmet professionals. That experience stuck with him, and eventually led him to reach out to one of the supervisors and later join our company as a fitter. 💚

In 1954, the first Valmet paper machine was started up at the Simpele mill of Yhtyneet Paperitehtaat. 🥳

With a working width of 2,400 mm, the machine featured innovative technical solutions that were ahead of their time and not yet in use at other paper mills in Finland. 👏🇫🇮
