🔧♻️ Renovación de un Garden Center
Actualmente estamos trabajando en la rehabilitación integral de un garden center construido hace más de 20 años.
Ya en el momento de su construcción, este proyecto se diseñó y ejecutó con los más altos estándares de ingeniería, cálculo y diseño de la época. Contaba con un modelo PW, una anchura máxima de 22 metros y 7 metros bajo canal, dimensiones que entonces eran claramente superiores a la media y que hoy siguen situándolo como una estructura de referencia.
A día de hoy, el garden sigue siendo un espacio muy bien concebido y a la vanguardia del diseño, pero el paso del tiempo hace necesario actualizar determinados materiales, especialmente los recubrimientos, para adaptarlos a las normativas y exigencias actuales.
En esta intervención hemos llevado a cabo, entre otras mejoras:
• Sustitución del vidrio antiguo por vidrio laminado, aumentando significativamente la seguridad, hoy ya obligatoria.
• Renovación del cerramiento opaco con panel sándwich, con aislamiento de lana de roca, mejorando el comportamiento al fuego frente a soluciones antiguas sin certificación o con poliuretano.
• Instalación de policarbonato celular de 30 mm de espesor, que permite una excelente entrada de luz natural con un coeficiente de transmisión térmica muy eficiente.
Estas mejoras demuestran que, cuando una estructura está bien diseñada desde el origen, es posible rehabilitarla, actualizarla y darle una segunda vida con garantías, alargando su uso durante muchos años más y adaptándola a los estándares actuales.

We are currently working on the comprehensive refurbishment of a garden center built more than 20 years ago.
At the time of its original construction, this project was designed and executed according to the highest standards of engineering, structural calculation, and design available at the time. It featured a PW model, a maximum span of 22 meters, and 7 meters under gutter, dimensions that were clearly above average at the time and that still position it today as a benchmark structure.
Today, the garden center remains a well-conceived space at the forefront of design. However, the passage of time makes it necessary to update certain materials—particularly the cladding systems—in order to meet current regulations and performance requirements.
As part of this intervention, we have carried out several improvements, including:
• Replacement of the original glass with laminated glass, significantly increasing safety, which is now a regulatory requirement.
• Renovation of the opaque envelope using sandwich panels with rock wool insulation, improving fire performance compared to older solutions without certification or using polyurethane.
• Installation of 30 mm cellular polycarbonate, allowing excellent natural light transmission while providing a highly efficient thermal performance.
These improvements demonstrate that when a structure is well designed from the outset, it is possible to refurbish, upgrade, and give it a second life with full guarantees—extending its service life for many more years and adapting it to today’s standards.
