Lua represents a new generation of young people who see science, technology and space as opportunities to explore, innovate and make a positive impact on the world around them. Recognising her potential at an early stage, we decided to support part of her journey to NASA, reinforcing our commitment to promoting education and encouraging young people to pursue careers in the space sector.

Future space infrastructure won't fit inside a single rocket.

As missions become more ambitious, technologies for In-Orbit Assembly (IOA) will enable the construction of large space stations, power systems and logistics hubs directly in space. But first, the control systems behind these operations need to be thoroughly tested and validated.

That's why GMV developed TRACTOR (Test Rig for Analysis and Control of Traveling Oscillations in a Resonant Beam), a proprietary platform designed to recreate the dynamic challenges of in-orbit assembly in a representative test environment.

Combined with a high-fidelity digital twin, TRACTOR helps bridge the gap between simulation and real-world operations, accelerating the development of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) technologies for future space missions. 🛰️

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ricardo Sáenz Amandi as General Manager of GMV’s Defence and Security.

With 30 years of experience at GMV and a strong track record leading key programs in the sector, Ricardo takes on this new role with the mission of driving growth, strengthening the company’s technological capabilities, and consolidating GMV’s position as a strategic partner in defence and security.

“I take on this new responsibility with enthusiasm and commitment, with the aim of continuing to strengthen GMV’s capabilities and helping address the current and future defence and security challenges facing our society,” said Ricardo Sáenz Amandi.

We would also like to thank Manuel Pérez Cortés for more than four decades of dedication and leadership. We are delighted that he will continue contributing to GMV as an advisor.

Last week, we took part in the AED Days, one of the leading meeting points for the aeronautics, space and defense sectors.

At the Space² exhibition area, we showcased our expertise in satellite navigation, space systems, defense and security, featuring technologies such as the PfA mock-up from LEOPNT IOD-1 (Celeste), the srx10i for interference detection and ASGARD, our maritime receiver supporting OSNMA. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience an interactive simulator of the LUS-222 aircraft, demonstrating Portuguese innovation in mission systems and flight planning.

The event was also a great opportunity to exchange ideas on the future of the sector, with Andrés Juez Nuños, Head of European GNSS, participating in the panel "The Next Space Frontier: Opportunities, Readiness and Growth".
