Fuel also needs maintenance. ⛽️⚓

The presence of water and microorganisms in fuel tanks can promote the formation of sludge, blockages, and issues in the fuel system, especially during long periods of storage.

Biocidal products such as Grotamar 82 and FuelClear M15 help control microbiological contamination in diesel and keep both the fuel and the system in better condition.

A simple preventive measure that can prevent much larger problems on board.

¿Sabías que el tamaño de la defensa debe ir acorde con el tamaño de tu embarcación? ⚓

Una defensa demasiado pequeña puede no ofrecer la protección necesaria frente a golpes y roces durante el atraque.

Como regla general, cuanto mayor sea la eslora, el desplazamiento y el peso de la embarcación, mayor deberá ser el diámetro de la defensa.

📏 Guía orientativa:
• Defensas cilíndricas: ≈ 2,5 cm de diámetro por cada 1,2–1,5 m de eslora.
• Defensas esféricas: ≈ 5 cm de diámetro por cada 1,2–1,5 m de eslora.

El tipo de atraque, la altura del francobordo y las condiciones habituales de navegación también son factores importantes a tener en cuenta.

Elegir la defensa adecuada es una pequeña decisión que puede marcar una gran diferencia en la protección de tu embarcación.

A fender that’s too small may not provide enough protection against bumps and rubbing while docking.

As a general rule, the greater the boat’s length, displacement and weight, the larger the fender diameter should be.

📏 General guideline:
• Cylindrical fenders: ≈ 2.5 cm in diameter for every 1.2–1.5 m of boat length.
• Round fenders: ≈ 5 cm in diameter for every 1.2–1.5 m of boat length.

Docking setup, freeboard height and your usual boating conditions should also be taken into account.

Proud to look back on another unforgettable Copa del Rey Mapfre, where Nautichandler was once again on hand as the Official Chandlery, supporting teams throughout one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic regattas.

We were also especially proud to sponsor the Women’s Cup, celebrating the talent, competition and growing female participation in sailing.

A week of world-class racing, great teams and the passion for sailing that brings us all together in Palma.
