Race prep is a different discipline entirely. A cruising rig and a racing rig might look the same from the outside, but the demands are completely different once you’re hard on the wind in 30 knots.

When RigPro does a pre-regatta check, this is what we’re actually looking at:

Full inspection of every working line. Replacement of any high-load lines showing fatigue. Lead optimisation with the captain and tactician. A running rigging weight audit. And a labelled spare line kit built specifically for dockside emergencies, because they always happen.

Just under two weeks until the The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille . The right time to do this is now, not race morning.

Another new Southern Spars mast stepped by the RigPro team for the new Baltic 121 in Finland.

Working in conjunction with the teams at and , the stepping and tuning process went seamlessly, with sail trials expected to begin early next week.

This is the third mast stepped in Finland by the RigPro team this year, with two more scheduled before the end of the month.

BEFORE and AFTER!

This is a recent job lock service on here in Palma.

We carried out a full strip-down and overhaul of all mast locks, replacing the springs throughout and swapping the old triplines for new colour-coded ones.

The jib lock in particular had seen significant wear after years of use across countless regattas, both inshore and offshore.

Sourcing the correct parts meant tracking down OEM drawings dating back to 2010, which was no easy task! Once identified, we were able to source the right components, fully service the lock, and give it an aesthetic refresh by re-spraying the clear coat on the carbon lock housing.

The result is a lock that not only looks better, but operates as intended and is ready for many more miles of racing.

Regatta Support - Race day is not the time to discover a problem. is just over three weeks out. For most race crews that feels comfortable. For your running rigging, three weeks is about right.
Pre-regatta is when RigPro does its best work. Before the pressure is on, before the dock gets busy, before someone is standing over you with an hour to go before race one, wishing they’d spotted a problem sooner.

One thing worth knowing we work across ALL rigs, regardless of who made them!

We were called in at short notice to remove the mainsail track sections on before the painters start work on the masts next week. We even got the crew involved!

With both masts standing over 90 metres tall, there were quite a few bolts to remove….. somewhere between 1,500 to 2,000 per mast!
