We are deeply honored and proud to announce that Rear Admiral Eng. Ibrahim El Desouky has been appointed as the Executive Director of Fairwater Group Egypt.
Rear Admiral El Desouky brings a legendary 45-year legacy of leadership, technical excellence, and strategic transformation within the naval architecture and maritime defense sectors. His remarkable career stands as a testament to operational brilliance and industry-shaping achievements:
⚓ Key Career Highlights:
• Distinguished Naval Background: Graduated in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (1970) with honors, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Ocean Engineering (1980). Served as a prominent Marine Engineer in the Destroyer Flotilla, rising to Chief Engineer of the Destroyer Flotilla and the Red Sea Naval Base.
• Shipyard Transformation Leader: Promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in 1996, taking command of the main naval workshops and overseeing their historic transformation into the Naval Ship Repair Yard. He later served as Chief Engineer of the Egyptian Naval Forces and Assistant to the Commander of the Naval Forces for Technical Affairs.
• Corporate & National Scale Leadership: * Chairman of the Egyptian Ship Repair and Ship Building Company (2003), spearheading its transition to the Marine Industries and Services Organization (MIASO) and achieving international certifications in Quality, Environment, and Health & Safety.
o Chairman of Alexandria Shipyard (ASY) (2007), leading massive self-funded upgrades and international joint ventures with global Chinese and Turkish firms, culminating in the presidential inauguration of its major development projects in 2015.
o Chairman of the Marine Industries and Services Organization (MIASO) (2012), successfully managing a massive conglomerate of key maritime companies (including ASY, the Egyptian Ship Repair Company, Triumph for Maritime Transport, and the National Nile River Transport Company).
• Continued Industry Impact: Concluded his service at the Ministry of Defense in 2016 after 45 years of dedicated service (including 20 years with the rank of Rear Admiral). He went on to serve as Chairman of the Egyptian Navigation Company (2016–2017) and President of the Egyptian Society of Marine Engineers and Shipbuilders (2022).
• State Honor: He was awarded the Order of the Republic of Egypt, Second Class.
• Institutional Pioneer: Oversaw the establishment of the Ship and Marine Industries Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries in January 2023, serving as its very first elected President.
• Global Professional Affiliations: A member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and a former member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
