Decades of engineering experience mean we've solved problems you haven't encountered yet.

AlexForm has supplied panels and cold-formed sections to projects ranging from 500m² cold stores to multi-facility logistics parks exceeding 80,000m². Each project adds technical depth to how we design, test, and manufacture.

What experience actually delivers:

▶ Proactive specification support we identify potential interface problems before construction begins.

▶ Fabrication tolerance management our production team understands that ±1mm on a panel affects the erector on day one of installation.

▶ Post-installation performance data we track thermal performance on completed facilities to close the loop between specification and reality.

Engineering experience isn't a credential. It's applied knowledge that saves time, cost, and rework.

When fire classification and acoustic attenuation are primary design drivers, mineral wool sandwich panels are the engineering answer.

AlexForm's mineral wool panels achieve:

▶ Fire resistance: Core classified as A2-s1,d0 non-combustible to EN 13501-1, supporting EI 60 and EI 120 fire-rated wall assemblies

▶ Acoustic performance: Sound reduction index (Rw) up to 42 dB depending on facing gauge and installation detail

▶ Thermal capability: Suitable for applications where PIR is excluded by fire code, without sacrificing insulation integrity

Applications span food processing facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, logistics hubs, and airport infrastructure environments where fire-safe construction is not optional.

Cold-formed steel sections are frequently underspecified in light industrial construction and that gap represents real cost exposure on every project.

The structural-to-weight advantage of cold-formed profiles is well understood: C, Z, and sigma sections achieve equivalent bending stiffness to heavier hot-rolled sections at a fraction of the steel tonnage, reducing foundation loads, transport costs, and er****on time.

What is less often discussed is the precision dimension that matters at the interface:
When cold-formed purlins and girts are used to support sandwich panels or cladding systems, tolerances on section height, fl**ge squareness, and web flatness directly affect panel alignment, fastener pull-through capacity, and the thermal performance of the assembled envelope.

A section that is outside tolerance at manufacture creates cumulative alignment error across a building's bay spacing visible at installation and costly to correct.

AlexForm produces C, Z, and sigma sections in steel grades up to S550, with dimensional tolerances held to EN 10162 across every production run.

Our sections are manufactured alongside our panel systems — so the interface between cladding and structure is engineered as a complete assembly, not two separate specifications that happen to meet on site.

A panel is only as reliable as the process that produced it.

AlexForm's quality management framework operates across four control points:

𝐑𝐚𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Every foam chemical batch is tested for reactivity index and viscosity before entering the production line.

𝐈𝐧-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Continuous measurement of foam rise profile, surface temperature, and facing tension during lamination.

𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 100% panel length and thickness verification against tolerance of ±1.0mm using automated gauging.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Compressive strength, bond adhesion, and thermal conductivity sampled per production lot to EN 14509 methodology.

We document everything.

Because our clients' cold chains, cleanrooms, and logistics facilities depend on panels that perform, Not approximately, but precisely. AlexForm.com

Innovation in sandwich panels is rarely dramatic — it's incremental, test-driven, and failure-informed.

AlexForm's R&D program focuses on three active development tracks:
𝟏- 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: optimizing cell structure in PIR foams for improved lambda values without increasing panel thickness

𝟐- 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: evaluating next-generation bonding agents that maintain peel strength under both cryogenic and elevated temperature cycling

𝟑- 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲: iterative prototyping of tongue-and-groove profiles to reduce air infiltration to below 0.3 m³/h·m at 50 Pa Each track runs on a structured test-to-iteration loop, with results feeding directly into our production specifications.

R&D at AlexForm isn't a department, It's how we manufacture.

A sandwich panel has two simultaneous engineering mandates: 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 and 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿.

Meeting both is not a material selection exercise, it is a systems engineering problem.

The variables that govern performance include:

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 the steel facings carry bending and shear under wind, snow, and self-weight.
Under-specify here and the panel deflects outside serviceability limits under design loads.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗜𝗥 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗹 each have distinct compressive strengths, thermal conductivities, and fire behaviours.

The core choice is not interchangeable.

𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 the interface between core and facing is the critical plane.

Loss of adhesion under cyclic thermal or mechanical loading is the primary long-term failure mode.

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 the tongue-and-groove or ship-lap profile determines structural continuity between panels, airtightness, and the magnitude of linear thermal bridges at the joint.

At AlexForm, we engineer all four variables simultaneously not in isolation.

Our manufacturing process ensures facing tension, foam density, and joint geometry are controlled to tolerance on every production run.

The result is a panel that performs to its specification for the life of the building not just on the day it leaves the factory.

Maintaining a controlled cold chain starts long before the refrigeration unit is switched on, It starts at the wall.

At AlexForm, our cold store panels are engineered to deliver U-values as low as 0.18 W/m²K, achieved through precision-laminated PIR cores with continuous thermal bridges eliminated at every joint.

What this means in practice:
→ Reduced compressor load and energy consumption
→ Stable internal temperature across seasonal ambient swings
→ Extended service life under cyclic thermal stress

Our manufacturing process includes full-thickness CNC profiling and in-line foam density control, Ensuring every panel performs to spec, not just on paper.

For cold store engineers and procurement teams: specification consistency across batch production is a non-negotiable.
