Bernie has always been a "Canner". Even in Phoenix he would go to the Farmers Markets and get the freshest Fruits and Vegetables and bring them home and make something with them. When we came to Cuenca he brought his canning equipment with so he could have his "hobby". It kept him out of trouble for a little while until some friends of ours said he should share his foods with others and sell it. H

ence was born "Bernan's (BERnie NANcy) Home Canned Foods". Ever since that day our joint work has been filling canning jars with an up to date count of 64 different canned items and packaging 18 different dry mixes. This is not quite what we planned for our retirement but what else would we be doing?? It keeps us busy doing something together and we meet so many interesting people. Bernie always says he has never met a stranger... because no one is stranger than him... I don't know about strange but he sure does meet a lot of people. If you haven't already been greeted by Bernie, you day is probably coming! He is always stopping people and telling them about the thing he loves most.... after me of course!! If you get a chance you can usually see Bernie at Bazaars around town giving out samples of our foods or you can call or email us to arrange a time to come up to our pantry. . We look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!

Bernan’s Story

Bernie has always been a "Canner". Even in Phoenix he would go to the Farmers Markets and get the freshest Fruits and Vegetables and bring them home and make something with them or just can them. When we came to Cuenca we brought his canning equipment with so he could still have his "hobby". It kept him out of trouble for a little while until some friends of ours said he should share his foods with others and sell it. Hence was born "Bernan's (BERnie NANcy) Home Canned Foods". Ever since that day it’s been a joint effort to keep our pantry full of top quality products. We have an up to date count of 71 different canned items and packaging 20 different dry mixes plus 8 Gluten Free items and I can’t forget my frozen Pie Shells. This is not quite what we planned for our retirement but what else would we be doing?? It keeps us busy doing something together and we meet so many interesting people. Bernie always says he has never met a stranger... because no one is stranger than him... I don't know about strange but he sure does meet a lot of people. If you haven't already been greeted by Bernie, you day is probably coming! He is always stopping people and telling them about the thing he loves most.... after me of course and our new found home Cuenca!! We have stopped selling our products at the fairs here in Cuenca but your more than welcome to come up to our apartment and visit our Pantry. We have welcomed a lot of people we now call friends into our home to see just what we have . We look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!
