Two years ago, Etex committed to setting science‑based emissions reduction targets, with a clear aim: to better support our customers with more sustainable products, enable stronger partnerships, and contribute to a better world.

20 August 2026, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Etex’s near‑term science‑based emissions reduction targets, marking an important milestone in our decarbonisation journey.

Our approved near‑term targets are:

- Scope 1 and 2: 58% absolute reduction in total emissions (tCO₂e), market-based, by 2032 vs. 2019

- Scope 3: 30% absolute reduction in emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, and upstream transportation and distribution by 2032 vs. 2024

Our approach is clear. We are focused on reducing total greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and value chain, not only on improving efficiency.

Progress is already underway. By the end of 2025, Etex had reduced its absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 34%, even before the targets were formally approved.

At Skamol, our ClearChange roadmap continues to deliver meaningful impact across our operations. One of our recent advances comes from the Skamol Opole plant, where an improved solution has been introduced to recover and reuse water that was previously discharged from our reverse osmosis process.

By bringing this water back into the production loop, we’re reducing waste, improving efficiency and strengthening circularity in a very tangible way.

Thanks to this initiative, in 2025 we were able to reuse almost 30% of the process water required to produce 1 m³ of product. This enabled the recovery of 7,520 m³ of water – equivalent to two Olympic‑size swimming pools.

This initiative clearly demonstrates how we are putting ClearChange Step 6 – Reuse & Recycling into practice. By strengthening circularity in our operations, we reinforce the efficiency and resilience our customers count on, supporting a steady, responsible and future‑ready supply of the highest‑quality products.
