At Banedanmark’s headquarters in Ringsted, a raw, concrete-heavy environment was transformed into a workspace that’s calm, focused, and beautifully balanced.

Exploring the beauty of waste. ♻️✨

Now open at : - an exhibition showcasing the results of the research project .
 
As part of the project, designer has created a new acoustic wall concept using our discarded ceiling. During production or dismantling, some panels receive dents or imperfections. Normally, they’d be thrown away.
 
But what if we embraced the flaws? 🤔
 
Mikkel developed a 3D-printed mould inspired by the soft, flowing movement of the sea. When pressed into a dented panel, it transforms the surface – from damage into design.
 
The result is a tactile, wave-like pattern that turns waste into aesthetic function.
 
For the installation, we reused surplus materials from a current DAMPA project. The supporting structure?Repurposed rails from a renovated Danish school.
 
Experience the full installation at Waste Wonderland on view at Utzon Center until 25 August 2025.
