CBS 8 San Diego recently visited to cover their sustainability journey, and their DALUM CO₂ Recovery Plant was front and center.

Pure Project is 1% for the Planet & Climate Label Certified. Earlier this year, they installed a DALUM CO₂ Recovery Plant, and have already kept 40+ tons of CO₂ out of the atmosphere.

Co-founder of Pure Brewing, Mat Robar says it best:
“It ticks off a couple of boxes for us, hopefully the long-term savings, but also from the environmental side we are no longer releasing all that CO₂, and then having to buy it all again from somebody else”

Sustainability meets performance at Societe Brewing Company 🍻♻️

Societe Brewing is known throughout the craft beer industry for their award-winning IPAs and sustainability efforts.

This week we completed the installation of a new Dalum 30kg/hr Senior CO₂ recovery unit paired with their existing 3-ton bulk storage tank — helping capture fermentation CO₂ and convert it back into beverage-grade CO₂ for reuse throughout the brewery. While the full install was completed over the course of the week, the system was up and producing beverage-grade CO₂ on Day 1.

Last weekend, Kim Christian Dalum had the pleasure of presenting on CO2 Recovery at the Swedish Masterbrewer's Association annual meeting 🙌

The trip kicked off at Svaneke Bryghus, home to the very first DALUM CO2 Recovery Plant ever installed. Since its installation in 2020, the plant has operated seamlessly, producing 220 tons of CO2 to date, enough to fill the brewery’s 7-ton storage tank more than 30 times.

Brewmaster of Svaneke Bryghus, Peter Schrøder, notes that the brewery has remained self-sufficient since the installation. Rather than purchasing CO2, they now sell surplus supply in 6 kg cylinders to their draft beer customers. We extend our sincere thanks to the Svaneke Bryghus team for hosting us and showcasing the system in action.

The two days wrapped up with a visit to Kiviks Äppel Cider Plant in Sweden, and a fabulous dinner in Ystad in Sweden.

Kim Dalum reflects: "A heartfelt thank you to all 50 brewmasters who joined us for two days of presentations, discussions, and great company, it was wonderful meeting each of you. Thank you to Svaneke Bryghus for letting us showcase their equipment, and a big thank you to the Swedish Masterbrewer's Association for their incredible hospitality."

Kyle brings a wealth of experience in the brewing industry, most recently as Vice President of Brewery Systems at Alfa Laval, one of the world's leading process technology companies. He holds an engineering background from MIT and Boston University, and a PhD and MBA from Hitotsubashi University, Japan.

With a proven track record in technology innovation and commercialization, Kyle is exactly the kind of leader who will help us take DALUM to the next level.

At DALUM, we believe craft brewers and DAC innovators deserve access to the most advanced, affordable, and sustainable process equipment available. With Kyle on board, we're better positioned than ever to serve our growing global community.

Kyle has previously worked with Kim Christian Dalum twice. First at Sander Hansen, then Kim recruited Kyle to Alfa Laval. Kim says: "We are very lucky to have Kyle onboard at DALUM Equipment. He will play an integral role in driving our growth and taking our mission of offering advanced and affordable resource and cost-saving process equipment for craft breweries and DAC pioneers global."
