Astonishing ROV Recovery After 8 Years Underwater – And Still Working!

Eight years ago, a determined Great Lakes shipwreck hunter faced a formidable challenge when his SEAMOR Marine Ltd. ROV became ensnared in the wreck of the 1929 freighter, the Senator, at a depth of 134 meters in Lake Michigan. Despite numerous recovery attempts over the years, the ROV remained lost... until now!

In a remarkable twist of fate, the ROV owner has successfully retrieved his SEAMOR ROV. After spending eight years submerged, the ROV was discovered with no visible leaks and only minor corrosion. This extraordinary recovery underscores the durability and resilience of SEAMOR ROVs.
