The solutions provide outstanding measuring results and constitute an extremely reliable foundation for making critical and economic decisions in maintenance, quality and safety departments all over the world. We were excited to share insights from CTO David Malmgreen-Hansen recent presentation at Road Profile Users’ Group (RPUG) Conference in Pittsburgh, USA.
Our latest research compares a Stereo Vision-based profiler against traditional sensor modalities. By leveraging high-resolution linescan imagery and advanced matching algorithms, we demonstrate that estimating Mean Profile Depth (MPD) via stereo vision yields promising results when compared to established point and line laser systems.

Greenwood Engineering has successfully completed the third and final TSD operational training session for VILNIUS TECH in Lithuania.

The session was led by R&D Engineer Magnus Jørgensen, with a strong focus on building full operational confidence and technical competence.
During the training, the VILNIUS TECH team demonstrated their ability to safely and correctly prepare, calibrate, and conduct TSD surveys. They are now fully equipped to manage and perform thorough quality control on collected data—ensuring consistent, high-quality results in the field.
Congratulations to Martynas Karbočius and Igoris Kravcovas from VILNIUS TECH for their dedication and successful completion of the training.

By leveraging precise, centimetre-level synchronization, the TSD-based Surface Curvature Index (SCI-TSD) can be combined with our in-house developed Surface Imaging System (SIS) to provide visual confirmation of many high-frequency features observed in SCI-TSD data.

SCI-TSD is highly sensitive to the condition of the top layer. When reported at centimetre resolution, distinct spikes begin to appear in the dataset. Using SIS, we are able to accurately determine whether these spikes are caused by surface-level cracks or possibly by subsurface damage that has not yet become visible.

This integrated approach enhances our ability to detect, interpret, and validate early-stage pavement deterioration with greater confidence and precision.
