Keeping onboard systems running efficiently requires more than the right equipment. It also takes hands-on expertise and ongoing service.

Earlier this year, our DESMI Service Team visited a shipyard in China, boarding two container vessels to inspect DESMI engine room pump installations and provide support.

During the visit, the team also reviewed the OptiSave system onboard one of the vessels, helping ensure optimal performance and continued efficiency at sea.🌍

These visits are an important part of how we support our customers beyond installation, contributing to reliable vessel operations around the world.👏

Strong partnerships. Built together.

For DESMI, a strong supply chain is about more than products and prices. It is about close dialogue, mutual understanding and long-term partnerships that help us continuously improve quality, reliability and competitiveness.

Over the past three months, we have therefore brought together a number of our strategic suppliers at four Supplier Conventions – two in Denmark and two in China. 🌍

These meetings are an important part of our efforts to strengthen our supplier relationships and build an even stronger foundation for future collaboration.

A big thank you to all our suppliers who participated, shared their perspectives and contributed to constructive discussions. 🤝

𝐀 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 – 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞

We are pleased to welcome SYNERSEA I.K.E., represented by Kostas Karabinis, as DESMI’s new local representative for the Greek Marine market. 🤝

And while the role is new, the relationship certainly isn’t.

Kostas previously worked with DESMI and already knows our organisation, our solutions and importantly, the Greek marine market and many of the customers we serve.

Through SYNERSEA, customers in Greece now have a strong local point of contact, backed by DESMI’s global organisation, expertise and support.

Kostas and SYNERSEA will support shipowners, ship managers, shipyards and operators across our Marine portfolio – from pumping and fluid handling solutions to energy-saving systems, ballast water management, spares and service.

Welcome back to the DESMI family, Kostas – just in a slightly different role this time. 👏

Sometimes, improving the way we work starts with trying something new.

Our Operations and R&D teams in China are doing just that with a new 3D printer – exploring how it can help us work smarter, shorten lead times and make better use of our resources. 🖨️⚙️

The printer is being tested for producing patterns for selected cast components.

Instead of manufacturing, storing and maintaining traditional patterns, suitable patterns can potentially be produced when needed directly from digital designs.

For now, it is all about testing, learning and finding out where the technology adds value. 🔍

Because innovation is not always about inventing something completely new. Sometimes, it starts with asking a simple question:

And judging by the interest around our new printer, there are plenty of ideas still to be tested.

Another important step for DESMI DesFuel 🎉

Our DesFuel pump is now ready to go onboard an LNG-fuelled ferry.

Claus Linding, Senior Mechanical Engineer at DESMI, together with our colleague from Nordan Marine, has finalized the pump and is now taking the equipment onboard for installation.

The installation will give us the opportunity to prove the DesFuel concept in real vessel operation. Testing has shown very promising NPSHr performance, with lower NPSHr than competing solutions. This can give the crew more flexibility to use the fuel tank volume further down, while maintaining reliable pump operation. 📈

As Claus put it:

“I have been involved with DesFuel from the very beginning, so seeing the pump now ready to go onboard is a great feeling. I’m really excited to see how it performs in real operation.”

From the workshop to the vessel. Now it is time to put DesFuel to work. 🚢

Replacing old pipes alone isn’t enough to modernize a district heating network...

Why? Because reliable winter heating depends on the performance of the entire system.

In North China, many communities built in the 1980s and 1990s face the same challenges: aging pipelines increase heat losses, while a faulty valve in one household can affect the entire unit.

That is why district heating infrastructure across older residential areas is being modernized. ❄️

Through our partnership with China Huadian Corporation’s heating subsidiary, DESMI is contributing to the upgrade of heating networks, mainly by supplying ESL and NSL pumps.

One renovation initiative alone covers:
✅ 5 heat sources
✅ More than 100 heat exchange stations

It is a large-scale upgrade with a practical goal: more reliable heating, better efficiency and greater comfort for the people depending on these systems every winter.

Good conversations. New perspectives. A shared focus on aquaculture.

As Aqua-Ice comes to an end, we leave with plenty of new input – and, most importantly, many good conversations with people from across the aquaculture industry.

For DESMI, the event has been a valuable opportunity to connect with customers, partners and industry colleagues and exchange perspectives on the challenges and developments shaping modern aquaculture.

We have also had the opportunity to share how our pump and UV solutions support reliable water treatment and efficient water movement across aquaculture applications – from RAS and hatcheries to wellboats and other marine-based systems.

Thank you to everyone who stopped for a conversation, shared their experiences or simply took the time to connect with our team.

Events like Aqua-Ice remind us that developing good solutions starts with understanding what is happening out there – and listening to the people working with it every day.
